Lack of Customer Service

My experience at this hotel was awful. Once me and my husband arrived at the hotel, the maids that were working to clean up made an assumption that we had a pet in the room and therfore did not put any clean linen in the room for us. When we returned from our touring later that night, we could not take a shower because of this, so we spoke to the front desk clerk who was very rude and asked to speak with manangement. Upon talking to management, we discussed the situation with her and she said that they all went under the assumption of the pet being in the room and when I asked if they had entered the room to confirm the pet, her response was no. So me and my husband informed her that we would be checking out, the manager was very very rude and after a back and forth argument about the matter, we finally checked out and had to travel almost 50 miles from the family that we were visiting to get a decent room. My only suggestion to the hotel staff is not to go from assumptions and attend any customer service classes that are offered for your staff. My overall rating from this incident was very poor.
