Not understanding the bad reviews
By L.T., 5/9/11
We stayed for 4 nights and do NOT understand the bad reviews. First of all, our daughter has allergies and asthma. We would NOT stay in a dirty, musty motel. Our room was large and clean. We stay in several motels a year and this room had the least amount of dust. The pool and the hot tub were good. Beds were comfy. There were small tears in blankets but they were clean. 4 nice pillows per bed. My daughters only complaints were that the shower head was too low and the bottom of the tub was grungy. Not enough that it was gross or unusable. Breakfast was slim but we found enough to eat every morning. Basic continental. There are no interior corridors (pull up to room and park). We had no problem with this. The area was very quiet every night. The prison is about 1/2 block away and the entire length of our stay we didn't see a single person outside on the grounds. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is a very safe area. The train does go by but is not extremely loud. To sum up we would stay here again. They have reasonable rates. It was cleaner than many expensive hotels we have stayed in. Cleaner than the Super 8 we stayed in last year across town. The employees that we dealt with were helpful and pleasant. Give this hotel a chance!!

The Dirtiest Place I Every Stayed In
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/8/11
We checked in late in the evening, and should have left as soon as we saw how dirty the lobby was. We went to our room and there was not a single thing that was not dirty including the bathroom fan. The carpets were horribly stained. The pool area had ants crawling all around the hot tub and the garbage cans were over flowing with garbage. This place should not even be awarded a single star. I would not recommend this motel to my worst enemy.

DON'T STAY HERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/10
PLACE WAS VERY DIRTY, ROOMS WERE SMALL, WHAT "CONTINENTAL" BREAKFAST, WALLS ARE NOT SOUND PROOF AT ALL, CURTAIN ROD WAS FALLING DOWN, CLOGGED DRAIN. MANY GUEST STAYED HERE AFTER A WEDDING AND EVERYONES ROOM WAS IN REAL BAD SHAPE. MOTEL 6'S ARE TEN TIMES BETTER THEN THIS DAYS INN. PAY THE EXTRA 10-20$ AND GO STAY ON THE OTHER END OF RED WING

Excellent Customer Service
By A Yahoo! user, 7/15/10
I had booked on Travelocity and needed to leave one day earlier than I had made reservations for. They were very accommodating in making sure that I was refunded for the last night. You don't find that kind of service or sympathy anymore. The hotel was clean and had nice touches, like internet access and breakfast in the office. Very Nice Owners who take care of you!!!

Not that bad
By Jen, 11/18/09
I liked it because you can have your pets there. We didn't really care about how lavishing it was. We were tired and wanted to sleep.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/08

Spend a little more to stay somewhere else!
By tmo0928, 7/27/08
This motel was in very bad shape. The bedding was disgusting; the sheets didn't appear to be washed and the blanket was torn. The bathtub looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in quite some time. We didn't stay for the free breakfast; it didn't look very promising. Do not be deceived by the pictures on the internet.

Will not stay here again
By lacy leigh, 5/28/08
I would not recommend this hotel. The sheets were dingy and the mattress had stains. Floors weren't vacuumed very well. The continental breakfast was not much to speak of. We had family members also staying there and they had the same complaints. Had to have the sheets replaced because of stains, bugs in the bathtub and floors not very clean. Pool area actually looked nice. $85.-$90. a night is way overpriced for this hotel.

Next Time I'll Stay Somewhere Else
By Charlie R, 3/8/06
I only have complaints for this place. They only reason I chose to stay here was because of a deal giving me a gift certificate if I did. The internet does not work, the "continental breakfast" is just mini muffins every single day, which doesn't count as a breakfast at all. The room was descent except for the smoke smell and the nasty tar stains on everything. You know that brown color that clings to everything even the paint. Just go stay down the street at the Saint James Hotel which is actually in town. It is much more elegant.
