Pros and Cons
By S, 5/16/11
Me and 8 other friends went to Duluth for a girls getaway weekend. When we first booked our room my friend inquired about a buy 1 night get 1 free promotion that was posted on the website and was told it was not valid for that weekend. After a couple days a couple other girls in our group book a separate room and were given the buy 1 get 1 promotion. With a call back and some questioning we did receive our free night. Check in was fast and easy. Staff was friendly and courteous The room was not worth the money we paid for it. Sleep number beds felt like sleeping on an air matress encased in wood. Not comforable at all. The comforter and bedding was very nice and comfortable. The tv was a small, old, hard to see dinosaur. The people in the next room would go in and out of their room all day and everytime they did their door would squeak open and shut with a loud noise. There is a lot of noise from outside and the hallways that can be heard. The restaurant and "pub" were HUGE disappointments. We went to the pub first after we got settled in. It was the size of our hotel room with a couple tvs and dartboards it was kind of confusing to find but a staff member helped us to locate it. We then went up to JJ Astor so we could check it out. Food and drinks were good (especially the Aston burger we tried). Breakfast the next day at JJ Astor was the worst breakfast I've had in a long time. The waitress didn't bring our whole table water to start only half, we had to ask for silverware, I asked for scrambled eggs twice and ended up getting over easy and the pancakes had a weird taste to them, the brie in one of the others wasn't even melted just chunks of cheese mixed with luke warm scrambled eggs, the hashbrowns weren't cooked all the way through, a friend ordered coffee and was given one glass with no water or even an offer to get a refill. For the amount of money we paid it should have been a way better experience. We actually changed our dinner plans to eat somewhere else because we were going to eat at the hotel. All in all .. don't waste your money here. Staff is great. Not the best bang for your buck.

Mislead
By Laura, 8/27/10
I made my reservations online and the pictures make the place look great. When I got there it was one thing after another. First, I drove around looking to find a parking spot only to have to go inside and then be told that there is overflow parking in the lot across the street. I was then given a piece of paper to put on my dashboard to show that I was a guest at the hotel. I suggested they notify individuals about this online and then be able to print that paper out when the reservation is made because what a waste of time driving around in the begining. Then, I was put in the annex in room 424, what a dump of a hallway and elevator (not a good first impression). There were stains all over the hallway carpets and the elevator walls. When I told Danielle, the hotel staff at the front desk, she claimed they had just shampooed the carpets and seemed shocked to hear what I had to say. She seemed very little interested in what I had to say and in fact was rude. The beds in the room made it look nice however they are in fact so uncomfortable. When my sister woke up it was like she was in a coffin.....try it out and you'll see. Also, there must have been a short in our floor lamp because the light came on in the middle of the night. Weird? Also, there was a burn hole in my sheets. Not what I expected from a Radisson.

Did not like this place
By Steve, 6/25/10
The location is good as far as being able to walk to restaurants up and down Superior st, but not so much if you want to hang out in Canal park area. I thought I would be staying in the main hotel, you know, the circular one in the photos? I was put over in the annex. It was very dated. The 2nd through 5th floors are connected to the main round hotel which is good b/c at 9pm the main door to access the annex is locked and you have to walk through the main hotel, up the elevator and back to your room. I understand they do this for security, however I rarely saw anyone at the front desk when I had to take the long way around. Oh, and I wasn't informed of this process when I checked in and the girl at the front desk seemed offended when I pointed that out to her. Consider all of the other negative comments true, so I will not reiterate them. Although the ammenities section states regridgerator, my room did not have one. No ice machine and if your in the main hotel on the entry level and need to use the bathroom you must walk down to the lower level. The pool is outdated as well. This placed is not a place that I would reccommend to anyone and I will never go back.

DATED AND TINNY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/10
I figured it's the "Radisson" how bad could it really be. It was like stepping back into 1980's. The room, bed, and bathroom are all extremely small. The bathroom reminded me of the bathroom on a crusies. You can't shut the door if your on the toilet which was under the counter. The shower I didn't even bother as I didn't have time to take a three hour shower due to the lack of pressure. The bed terrible two averaged sized humans do not fit in the bed, "sleep number" reminded me of sleeping on a cheep blow up bed with a small leaking pin hole in it, and the pillows reminded me of sleeping with no pillow at all. I could go on and on about how bad this place is. The glasses in the room at first glance look clean but look closer and they are gross. BTW the "business center" was a cheep old PC on a table in front of the check in desk. The resturant was under construction which was the only selling point of the place.

Too many kids for an adult get-a-way
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/08
I booked this hotel on the tip from a friend...never again, our sleep number bed did not work, our TV didnt work very well, the romantic anniversary dinner that we thought we would have at the "top of the harbour" was absolutely disgusting. We probably wont ever stay here again. Also I read that they had complimentary shuttle service and when we wanted to use the service they had no way to take us.

Ok if you like to walk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/7/07
I really enjoyed Canal Park. It was beautiful! Radisson was ok if you don't mind very smoky smelling smoking rooms. Although, the sleep number beds were great! There was only one pool and very small hottub so we had to wait to get in all the time. The hotel staff were not very helpful or welcoming. I work at a Country Inn and wasn't impressed with their customer serviceat all. You'd think they'd let you know some info at check in about the area or atleast tell you to enjoy your stay. The restaurant on the roof was really cool with an awesome view. The food wasn't very good or worth the price, but the employees were very customer oriented and really impacted our stay in a good way. We will definately go back, but I think we'll try to get a hotel closer to Canal Park because even with the skywalk, it takes forever to get there.

USS Oriskany Reunion
By Dennis, 9/22/07
The folks at the Radisson could not have been more cooperative and helpful. Our reunion went nearly perfect. The food was great and once again the staff was as helpful as possible.

Very nice hotel
By Melanie H, 5/24/07
Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great, and a short walking distance to restaurants, and a 15 minute walk from Canal Park. Our room non-smoking queen room was comfortable, and was always neat and tidy when we returned in the afternoon thanks to housekeeping. The restaurant has an unadventurous, but solid menu. The real star is the view you get from the revolving restaurant!
