average hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/10
Stayed here over the weekend. Clean and average hotel. But it was very loud outside. We were on the main floor and our room right by the bus stop which you could here all night long and a lot of police car sirens all night. Bed was fine and clean but only full size in double not queen size beds. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were very nice and clean and not many people so it was very nice for my family.

Middle-of-the-road accomodations
By David, 8/13/09
The Best Western Normady Inn needs some polish. One can tell the hotel has been updated, but more needs to be done. The lobby and hallways still have a dungeon-like feel. The adjoining restaurant is expensive. On the positive, it is convenient to the Light Rail Line and Metrodome. The room was adequate, if unspectacular.

A Hidden Gem.
By gloria schibursky, 1/28/09
This old City hotel is undergoing renovation. I have just spent the past 2 evenings here in one of their newly renovated queen suites. The suite with its amenities was very comfortable. It was quiet, lovely, clean, etc. The front desk staff was very accommodating to my needs and the room rates were more than competitive with what others offer in the downtown area. I had dinner at the restaurant where the quality of the food and the service (Joy) were excellent! Disposable plates, flatware, napkins, and paper towels are not furnished. I will be staying here again and will be recommending stays in their suites to others.

Didn't make it to the Hotel an HATED the service!
By Zoya, 8/15/08
We all were soo excited to stay at Best Western The Normandy Inn & Suites for our Twins game we are going to! Then I call to change my reservation to another day well the person (Neemen) I had spoken to was VERY unprofessional and did not confirm the day or anything-then 2 days later I was charged with a no-show on my account for 130.00 and at that time I was in a bind with my money and had no money to even take my baby Steven to his Doctors appointment! Because the person behind the counter set my reservation for the wrong day! and I had 2 rooms reserved and I was charged for one-not sure how that happened either??? I had spoken to the Manager there too and he did not leave a good imprsion either I was so upset that I had demanded one for the rooms be free-he did not agree (I have never been this upset with any company like this-1st review I have ever written in my life) So now we are staying at the Embassy right down the road and I told them about my story and they assured me nothing like that will happen there!!! So VERY excited to stay there and we even got a biggger room with the same price!! Can't beat that!

The worst!
By very unsatisfied, 7/31/08
First and formost, this hotel has no refridgerator in the room, the first of its kind I visited in the USA. Not just a comfortable place especially for family. The staff can not even do basic accounting, yet would not express any regrets for charging $530 into a customer's credit card instead of less than $215. The guy did not understand the impact of such charges on credit balance /credit score even if the difference will eventually be refunded.

spend a few more bucks and stay anywhere else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/08
Stayed at this hotel on New Year's Eve. Upon checking in we were given a "letter from the owner". In most cases this would simply be a letter welcoming the guests to the hotel, but in this case it was a list of reasons why they would kick you out of the hotel. Gee thanks. Now I feel welcome. Upon coming back to the hotel after midnight there was a line at the door as the manager checked each person to make sure that they were guests at the hotel before being allowed in. I can see trying to be careful with the hotel on a busy night, but there must be other ways to go about it. Don't make your guests feel like they are criminals. Even without this treatment, I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms and the entire hotel are very dated.

Want to get lost and have a rise in your blood pressure while trying to navigate the idiocy of one way streets and re-located city blocks? Then the Best Western Normandy is the place for you!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/07
It only took 35 minutes to find the Normandy with directions in hand. We finally stopped and asked directions twice before stumbling onto the place. Ever had a desk clerk get in your face and inform you, you did not have reservations for two rooms and you're standing there with the conformation numbers from the reservations in hand? This is the place! Come right on up! Fortunately there is also a lovely desk clerk who listens and remembers and gets things straight in a very old-fashioned, well mannered way. Her Mom would be proud as would the owners. For almost a hundred dollars you get a room without small frig or microwave and you get to walk down scorching hot hallways to get to it. You also get to have your car parked in a secure parking lot behind the hotel for $7.00 a day and the break-in to your car is free. Last but certainly not least. You must go into the resturant for breakfast and try their "world's greatest pancakes". They will bring you two flat things that closely resemble crapes. As to anything else...eat out! They are over-priced and the cook is still learning. I ordered oatmeal and they couldn't prepare it.

We Recomend This Hotel!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/07
I thought the room was very modern. There was a kitchenette,a living room with a flat screen on the wall. The room was very clean. Not a great view, but I wasn't there for the view anyway. The hotel was very quite as well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The price is very reasonable for the location.Parking is good, they give you a parking voucher so you don't have to payfor parking.Hotel was very easy to find,I couldn't believe it. The best part of it all was,the cookies! They have fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk at 10:00pm and they are good!

Great hotel for a great price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/07
The Normandy Inn & Suites in downtown Minneapolis is a great place to stay if your looking for easy access to all downtown attractions including Mall of America. It is a few blocks away from the Metro Transit which is very affordable and will take you to the Metrodome, Nicollet Mall, Warehouse District and the Mall of America in short period of time. The staff is friendly and personable. The hotel includes a restaurant, pool/spa/workout area and of course cookies at 10:00, which are delicious! The parking is reasonable and safe. The rooms are a bit dated but have spacious bathrooms, the beds need updating and so does the carpet. The Lobby is clean and nice and has free computer access. Overall the hotel is affordable, clean and is in a great location for tourists who love to sight see without the hassle of driving, parking or getting lost!!
