Not again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/10
My hubby and I had to spend an evening there due to a severe storm that blew in and didn't feel safe in a tent that night. We found the room to be old and getting to be on the ratty side. The carpet was worn out, the blanket was old and ratty, smelled like stale smoke (non-smoking room), and very outdated furniture. I can overlook all that as it was a bargain to stay there. What I can't overlook, and why I am writing my first ever for any hotel/motel we've been in, is the concern we have about the sanitary conditions there. We both woke up with red itchy spots on our legs and we suspect a case of the bed bugs. Yuck. Will never stay there again nor recommend it.

Nice place to stay right off of the Intersate 90.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/09
I really like the spacious rooms they gave us. I expected to find small beds in the rooms, but to my surprise the beds were queen and the room was large enough to accommodate us well. I really loved the in-room coffee makers(we traveled for long time and were tired), I didn't have to walk back to the lobby to get coffee. I didn't like that the hallways were a little bit dark, but not that big of a deal. I was disappointed to find the public hot tub gone due to damage. The breakfast area is nice and spacious and the breakfast wasn't bad either. Something minor, the entrance to the hotel street has a few pot holes that should be filled.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/21/09
I like this motel. We stop here on our yearly trips. The rooms are nice and big and the price is reasonable. The staff is friendly(mom and pop type of place) and we get the very good service. The really nice thing about this place is that it's right off of the interstate. But that is a bitter sweet thing, as sometimes the traffic on I-90 gets a little loud. Don't let that hinder your from checking it out at least.

Interesting evening
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/05
We stayed at this motel in August 2005. The staff that greeted us were OK, I wouldn't say the best, nor the worst I have been greeted upon check-in. It did feel like I had interrupted their favorite TV show, they checked me in and turned away from the check in desk, while we were still standing there. Our room was adequate, floor wasn't really vacuumed too well and there was a slight odor of stale smoke in our non smoking room. We met some friends for the weekend here, and our friends' room had not real clean bedding (stains on sheets).... but ours looked clean..... Lots of interesting people came and went while we were there, through the evening. We had some friends who went outside to smoke, and saw some people in the lobby and outside that made them decide to always escort their wives and kids to and from the rooms. We were sure to keep our doors bolted each time we returned to our room! We weren't afraid for our safety, since we all had our husbands there. However, we weren't at ease letting the kids run to and from the whirlpool, or to get a soda. (No pool here just hottub). This motel is located right off the interstate 90, very easy on/easy off. Local sports bar/restaurant within easy walking distance (building next door). So if you wanted a full cook to order breakfast, you could do carry out or just eat right next door. I did not eat their continental breakfast in the morning so cannot comment on that. I would stay here again only if I was with my husband AND short on money. I would NOT stay here again otherwise, and particularly if I were alone or just me and my kids. If things like what I wrote about does not upset or concern you, the price is right ($47-52 + taxes) and I heard they allow pets. Otherwise, I would keep traveling along I-90 to look for a hotel/motel chain that I was familiar with!

wonderful stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/04
We enjoyed a very comfortable stay here, the rooms were very clean and the breakfast area was both large and inviting. We stayed in one of their larger hottub rooms, which was much like a suite. We highly recommend this quite and friendly hotel!

Not Good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/04
This hotel is the cheapest in Austin, but it is very dirty, old, understaffed, and not freindly. If I had to stay in Austin again, I would pay an extra $10 to stay at the Holliday Inn even though I am very thrifty. The Sports Bar next to the Countryside Inn has a great breakfast special.

wonderful charm
By Separated, 5/13/04
I came through Austin for business, and stayed at the Country Side Inn, for several days. I will always return to this hotel whenever traveling through Austin. The rooms were very well kept and the managment was very knid. Even the breakfast area had an old world charm about it.
