All I Expect of a Motel
When I stay at a motel, I am essentially looking for a place to sleep with no glaring deficiencies that would make me regret my stay. Let me start with the negatives:
-A bit of a mildew smell in the hallway.
-The air-conditioning units are sub-par. They probably top out at 75-ish degrees. Not particularly warm, but I'd prefer a cooler temperature.
The positives:
-Clean: I read very negative reviews that mentioned this as a dirty place, at least in the room I was in, this was not the case. Standard cleanliness that I'd expect at any public lodgings.
-Quiet: At least where I was (first floor, towards a door), I did not hear a peep outside my room during my stay. Some places are designed so thin that you don't feel privacy in your own room, here, I'd have no problem singing in the shower.
-Right in the center of town: Next door is a grill that advertises 75-cent drafts (whoa!). Within very short walking distance is a Wendy's, Burger King, and Long John Silver. If you find yourself hungry, walk outside 1/8 of a mile.
-Excellent WI-FI: Too many places have one router in the lobby and varying signal strengths throughout the hotel. This venue had a variety of access points throughout thhe place. In my room alone, I had access to two 54 mbps connections. I could stream Netflix with HD easily.
-Microwave/refrigerator in room: These are two amenities that can be essential depending on your lifestyle. I like picking up a six-pack and a pizza when I stay for a night. This gives me cooling and reheating capabilities for both.
This is not a place that I will rave to my friends about my experiences, but was completely functional with some nice touches, and what more do we expect for $50/night? Thumbs up.
