A highlight of our trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/07
An older Inn with class, character and comfort. We stayed one night during our extended summer trip through New England, and without a doubt this was one of the highlights. The Inn is across the road from the water, and having been lucky enough to be given the Lover's Cove Room, we had the most beautiful view of the sea that could be imagined. At night, with the windows open, you could hear the ocean waves hitting the rocks on the shore. An absolutely wonderful place. The room had all the mod-cons, including a fridge, but as I've stated, it is on the older side, though spotlessly clean and as comfortable as you'll need. The restaurant downstairs for breakfast was very good. If you've never tried the dense Anadama bread, do so (a dark, molasses infused bread) - it's worth a try. It was not the cheapest place we stayed, but to unwind, be in peaceful surroundings and take time to 'smell the roses', this is a very nice Inn.

We love to return to our room on the bluff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/07
We have spent many special visits to this beautiful Inn on the Marmion Way bluffs during the time when it was run by the original owners and/or their children. We came first in the late '70s and at least every 3 or 4 years in the '80s and 90s. We met many of the same people during many of our visits. Meals were really first rate with very good service by local help. Lobsters could be ordered for dinner for a very small additional fee. Clothes pins were hung on strings listing each visitor's visit date thru the years. It was always rated 5 Star by AAA. We last visited in 2004 with the Inn under the new management. Much had changed - not all for the good valuewise. Dinners were now extra in what is now open to non-guests of the Inn. They were excellent but though probably necessary costwise do hurt it valuewise. The Clothes Pins were gone along with the Skittles Game. Cleaning of our usual oceanside suite could have been better. It now was a 4 Star by AAA. We still wish to return and will next September. Rockport is special to us, and SEWARD INN is our special place there as well as at WOODMANs - DOWN ESSEX.

A Review from Rockport
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/06
I have lived on Cape Ann for 24 summers and have recently begun to send all of my friends to the Seward Inn. The Seaward Inn sits on one of my favorite streets in Rockport, Marmion Way, which winds around the granite shore, past coves and old cottages with views of lighthouses, islands, lobster boats pulling traps, and constantly changing sea scapes. Having walked past the Seaward Inn many times I have checked out the facilities, eaten at their restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and talked to the staff. I was always impressed, but because I had a house here in Rockport I hadn't had the opportunity to really sample what the Seaward Inn has to offer. This summer, however, I made reservations for my brother and two of my best friends and I was even more impressed. The beautiful grounds, the hearty breakfast, the lovely inn, are enhanced by the yoga, jogging, and healthy attitude of the owners and staff. My family and friends loved their stay and I highly recommend it.
