Great Place for Low Expectations

First of all, the toilet needed to be flushed three times every time we used it. If the low-flow is an attempt at conserving water, it isn't working. In fact, I think we used a lot more than would otherwise have been necessary. Secondly, our room had its own thermostat that we could control. It offered three different temperatures - 65, 66 and 67. What luxury. Thirdly, the bed was comfortable and it was great, when I could sleep. Starting at about six in the morning, every morning, I heard every door slam in the hallway. At first I thought it was just inconsiderate guests but found out that it was also the hotel employees. Do not stay at this hotel if you plan to go out at night and sleep in a bit in the morning.
Not a whole lot around there unless you are a part of the mall culture which I am not. Luckily, I am a walker when I travel. Cabs are also easy to get at the hotel. My husband and I each had a delicious piece of cake and a glass of milk from room service for forty dollars. It really was good but...
The view was okay if you stood in the far corner of the room where the window was.
The Art Bar off the lobby was nice enough but the service was not great.
So, if you are a person who doesn't use the restroom much, likes your room one of the three temperatures listed above, plans to get up at six every morning of your vacation to the relaxing sound of slamming doors, enjoys having all of the same stores and chain restaurants that are available in your hometown right across the street, loves a good twenty dollar piece of cake, enjoys a corner with a view and doesn't mind hunting down your waiter so you can place an order, I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston.
