Warning for Brides
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/11
I didn't want to have to write this review because when you look back on your wedding it is supposed to be the best day of your life. Due to the unprofessionalism, lack of caring, and lies from employees at Ocean Edge I think back on it as a terrible experience. I want to warn other brides about this place because they do not care about making you or your guests comfortable. I feinted at my wedding and the paramedics that came told me to drink water and sit in a cold room—which there were none of. They said nothing about my corset, which the "management" claimed was my reason for feinting even though the room we got ready in was 78 degrees. They also lied and said it was 68. Mind you on my wedding day no management was there, I’ve never met them, and still they make up accusations and lies about what happened that day. You would think “management” would at least come to check and see if I was okay after feinting. Nope. This is consistent with how the rest of my wedding day went. They called moving my wedding inside due to the record breaking heat accommodating me and my guests. You hold 6 weddings here a weekend--that is your business. What do you do when it rains? You move the wedding inside. If you are getting married somewhere there is always a backup plan for weather, so know that if you book your wedding here and they have to move the location, they’ll act as if it is a chore and they are doing you a favor. Moving the wedding inside eventually didn’t even matter because our family and friends dripped sweat during our entire ceremony. My family and friends complained to the staff and asked for fans and they were treated rudely and one employee even responded “Well we are hot too.” I also complained to a wedding coordinator the day after who didn’t even seem to care about how miserable hot it was in both the ceremony and reception room. You are better off booking at Wequassett Resort for this kind of money. For paying over 40k for a wedding you would expect better service. They should take that money and invest in an air conditioning system that works. I’m sure the management will respond to this review, which is another awful thing you’ll have to deal with if you book your wedding here. I would never want to have another bride go through what I went through on my wedding day and weeks after.

Overpriced, Confusing, Misleading!!!
By Sarah, 5/13/10
Me and my spouse with our baby went here for a nice quiet vacation. Well, the quiet was there. But everything else that is advertised was not. First of all we get there , and there is no pack n play like they said there would be. Than they bring one into the room after I called, and the sheets were clean but the pack n play was dirty of stains that were on it and some rips, and wabbly. At the price that they charge for the room you would think they could buy a new one. The furniture was also stained and the floor looked like it needed vacuming. Also, when you get there, there is no sign directing you to the front desk or where to park in which area. So you are confused as to where to check in. And if you have a baby which we did, you have to take the stroller up these huge stairs or go to a differant building to take an elevator to get to a ramp to get to the front desk!, So it is not well set up for the handicap or babies. They talk of room service, but when we were there they said they would not have room service till after memorial day! And if you want a breakfast brunch, the hotels restaurant provides it for a costly fee. Its not free and only the coffee is free, if you can get to it before it runs empty. Than, the next mourning, we went out to our car because we needed to drive down to see the water since online it talks about a bay view! which is very very misleading because you cannot see the water from your room. It just means your facing in the right direction! So when we went out to our car there were about 50 little green worms all over our car from their tree in the parking lot! we could not get in the car since they were crawling all over!! I went to the front desk and they offered nothing to help me get them off!! I simply had to ask them where the car wash was and they printed me out directions and never offered to help clean it off, it was disgusting. They said "well the trees are in bloom because of spring!" That is no excuse!! After we drove a couple miles down to have it washed, we made sure that we parked on the far other side away from the trees, we still found 3 worms that next mourning which is easier to handle rather than 50. We also had them replace the pack in play the next day with a differant one. It was also old and stained but at least it was not wobbly so it did not look like it was gonna fall apart at least. They also advertise a spa. Well you have to call a phone number to make an appointment . no one ever answers. we left a message, the lady calls us back and left a message saying there are no appointments available for the entire saturday and sunday! She did not even offer to call us in case one did come available! If you are tennis player, their tennis courts look nothing special or much differant than the kind you find in an apartment complex. Yes there pool is nice and workout room. But we have a baby and did not need the work out room or pool. The food is not bad, fair tasting, but a little over priced as is the resort itself. The worst part of all, my credit card numbers had been stolen. I talked to my bank and it was someone that had to have my address since they had charged through certain things that needed my address. Well, the charges had occured just after we had left the resort!!! So it is being investigated. I would not recomend this place. The staff in the front desk constantly changes so if you have a question about a room you booked and were verbally told something, you can be sure you will here a different story the next day.

Not worth the money
By Brian, 8/31/09
Website is deceiving as the Mansion and Villas are in different locations. Villas surround the golf course and you need to drive everywhere. Villa rooms are your basic Hotel suite at any franchise worth about $139/night with paper thin walls. The room was damp and smelled of mildew and the front desk could care less, horrible service. Stay away it is not worth the price you can do much better elsewhere on the Cape.

Beautiful resort!
By Vi, 8/16/09
We stayed at the Arbor Villa and the room was wonderful! Separate kitchenette and living room plus a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We went during the off season in late May and got a great price, but to go back during the "in" season in July would have been 3 to 4 times more expensive unfortunately. We'd love to go back, but it'll have to be during the "down" time! :)

High Price/Mediocre Hospitality Experience
By Santini, 8/4/09
Looks nice on the website but seemed like a "bait and switch" deal. The actual "mansion lodging" is in other building(s) with little if any view of the ocean. Rooms seemed similar to older Holiday Inn rooms that would go for $100/night instead of the $400/night they charge. Food quality and service where disappointing since my expectations were high based on the hype and price.Would never go back or recommend this property to anyone.

My clothes still smell mildew!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/09
I liked the location. The grounds and the golf course were beautiful. They did a great job with the wedding we attended. Our room in the hotel next to the mansion was very old and damp smelling of mildew. Even my camera bag smells bad. There was no shelf in the bathroom and only a small mirror. It was very difficult. to get ready for a rehearsal dinner and a wedding not knowing how your outfit looks. We heard many complaints from the others in the hotel and the condos. Loved the wedding hated the room! Many different prices for the same rooms!

A nice time had by all!
By SS, 9/6/08
My family whole family took a trip to the Cape for the first time and we stayed at the Oceans Edge. We stayed in the Britteridge condos which were nice and comfortable. My only complaint with the room was small but noticable. We had to ask for a couple of things that should have been available such as extra toleit paper, no biggy. The Reef Cafe across from our condo was very family friendly and accomadating to our many needs. We had 13 yr old, 11 yr old, 8 yr old and a 15 month old. In fact the whole cafe was filled with families that had kids when we were there for lunch and all looked very content with the service and the food. The best part was the pools from the wading pool for the baby to the indoor pools and the heated pools at the mansion for those who were cold due to a day or two of fall like weather. I would recommend this resort for a family vacation, but would keep in mind that you have to either take the resorts shuttle bus or drive to most of the resorts ammenities since it is a very large piece of property. One other side note the playground they offer is very sad and in need of updating, so if you have small kids it might be disappointing for them when they see it. I know it bummed us out a bit since we choose our room based on the walking distance to the playground. All in all everyone had fun from the grandparents to the baby so I would give it B+ and return again.

Wondeful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/06
We enjoyed all of the amenities that Ocean Edge had to offer. The rooms in the Villas were clean and pretty, perfect for families. Swimming in the bay was wonderful for our children. We can't wait to go back next year and the next.
