We would return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/08
This hotel is probably the best place to stay on Martha's Vineyard. It has an excellent location, a range of supporting services and a good restaurant for dinner. It is let down by breakfast, which is overpriced. Sound does carry in the older main building but the place is petty quiet by 2230. It scored well on everything else. The view from the deck is superb and you are a few minutes from Edgartown, where they filmed Jaws. Just keep an eye on your budget, though.

Worst place to work
By realman, 07/24/08
Harbor View Hotel? no Motel is the worst place to work, they pay there bell men $5.75hr and expect them to make a lot of tips from Guest that never happen, some time the Guest never tip, the best tip time is July and August and you are lucky to make 200 a week. My advice to anyone who want to work on the Vineyard not to apply to that place for a job as all they do is slave people. Even the Stop and Shop Supermarket pay much more than them without the stress. there houseing sucks and for sure you are going to be very on happy Please for your sake don't go there, worst if you are black.

Great Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/06
We stayed for four nights with our two children in August. The rooms were small but tastefully decorated and very clean. Housekeeping did a great job. They replenished towels twice a day. The pool was nice and the grounds were beautiful. Our best meal during our stay was dinner at the Coach House. It's only about an 8 min walk into town and a beautiful walk as well. In my opinion this is the place to stay.

You can't judge a book by its cover
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/06
A view from the outside beckons you to stay on the inside. The rooms were average @$410/night. Amemities were average, service was average. Rooms are very noisy (actually, people are rued and inconciterate of others) even earpugs countn't help. On the Saturday nigh we visited, the Wedding Band played til'10:30pm that meant room 212 vibrated like a tin can (we couldn't even hear our TV). We called the help desk, they told us they could NOT stop the music. Needless to say when the music did stop, the hooting continues til midnight. Mind you, $410 per night. Have Fun...

incredible caring staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/06
The staff, location and property is without a doubt the finest on Martha's Vineyard. The true freindliness and caring of the staff push it over the top. The Coach House dining facility is top notch as well as very different from "hotel" dining. There was also a wedding taking place. I can't think of a more complete place to host a wedding with the amazing views of Edgartown harbour.
