MY BOYFRIEND AND I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL ABOUT 2 MNTHS AGO AND WERE SO PLEASED WITH THE LOCATION ,THAT WE DECIDED TO STAY THERE AGAIN.THE NEXT TIME WE TRYED TO STAY THERE WE WERE RUDELY TURNED AWAY AT THE DOOR , AND WERE TOLD U HAD TO BE 21 INORDER TO RESIDE THERE FOR AN EVENING. WHAT WAS FUNNY TO ME WAS THE SAME GENTLEMEN WHO SOO RUDELY TURNED US AWAY, WAS THE SAME ONE WHO CHECKED US IN THE MONTH BEFORE, WITH NO PROBLEM. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS THIS TIME MY BOYFRIEND RESERVED IT INSTEAD OF ME! THEY NEED TO PUT THE AGE ON THE WEBSITE ALONG WITH THE PRICES LIKE OTHER HOTELS, ITS NOT LIKE WE WERE 18 OR 19 WE WERE BOTH 20.THE HOTEL KING ROOM IS NOT THE AVERAGE SIZE AND THE BATHROOM WAS EXTREMELY SMALL WITH OLD DECOR. INSTEAD WE STAYED AT THE RESIDENCE INN MARRIOT ONLY 5 MILES FROM THERE AND WE WERE TOTALLY SATISFIED. THE ROOM WAS ALOT BIGGER AND IT INCLUDED A KITCHEN AND A HUGE JACCUZI STYLE BATROOM FOR A CHEAPER PRICE.

plumbing disaster there

Pipe broke and spewed filthy, brown water into the hallway of hotel. Room changed to a new room and the water was dark brown in there also. Smoke detector hung from the ceiling precariously by one wire, carpet could have stood a little cleaning. Manager extremely rude. At night they gave away free hot beverages, but the coffee machine put out sour, curdled, room-temperature coffee and cocoa.

avoid at all costs!

Do not stay at this hotel if you can help it. I ended up covered in bed bug bites! The shuttle service to and from Walter Reid hospital was not at all dependable nor were the drivers friendly or accomodating. The rest of the staff were however kind and helpful but not worth what I had to go through with the bed bugs yuck!

DON'T LET THE VALET PARK!!!

We stayed their in April, the valet damaged our rental car. They told us they questioned the valet and he admitted to hitting it, after initially denying it. Then, months later, Alamo is still on us about the damage. They now claim that he has changed his story and Sue the HR director is saying that she did not say she would pay the claim. She also says they can't be held liable because the ticket has a disclaimer on it. This is AFTER they admitted to causing the damage and stating they would pay. Oh yeah, even though they had a pending insurance claim... they erased the security tapes...

NASTY!!!

The staff was friendly but this hotel has roaches! I was told by the service desk that the critters were "water bugs," they then moved me to a suite. The first night in the new room, a roach was in the bathroom. I was extremely disgusted and disappointed. Now, I am paranoid in each hotel I go to. I had higher standards for Hilton hotels. -out of town for business

The customer service was the worst I've seen at a hotel in a long time. More than one staff member were unprofessional and unhelpful. Neither of the phones in my room worked. There was a roach crawling around my room. The cream for my coffee in my room was curdled. The pasta salad I ate was like paste. The internet was slow. On a lighter note, the fitness room and pool were very nice and the Metro was convenient.

Heavy Construction

Hotel is adequate overall however *** THERE IS ON HEAVY CONSTRUCTION IN FRONT OF HOTEL *** Upon check in there was a note about the construction and that the city has waived noise ordinances for.....wait for it..... 9:00pm-5:00am....yes all night jack hammers etc. Large office building will take many months to complete so ask. The jack hammer stopped...oh bang bang bang, jack hammmer is back. am sure i will have a good nights sleep, even though we are on the top floor. Be forwarned....they should have disclosed this!!! 7/8/2008

I was surprised by the relatively low price for a Hilton but understood once we checked in. Room was tiny, bathroom miniscule! Carpet stained and soiled. Chair with ottoman old and soiled, ottoman had broken legs. We reported it to the front desk but it was not replaced. Ice machine on our floor did not work. On the positive side, staff was friendly. We had reserved two night but left after one night. We won't go back.

Overpriced and underserved

Here's what a 300$ a night will get you at the Silver Spring Hilton: - staff barging into the room 0.5 seconds after knocking - a TV remote without batteries - 2 out of 4 light working light bulbs - no answer from the front desk phone at 11PM - a shower with a couple minutes of hot water - a cab reservation, made by the front desk (supposedly), that never arrives Is it just me, or are the big chain hotels getting away with murder ?

I'll stay again and again!

My stay at the Hilton Silver Springs location was great. Being only minutes away from shopping and restaurants was really convenient. The service that I received was impeccable,from the valet to front desk employees. My only complaint was that the A/C in my room was not working properly and it did not get fixed. Overall I had a lovely stay and will definitely stay there in the future.
