DONT EVER GO HERE, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
By CAC, 5/17/12
If you are a glass half full type of person, here are your positives: the location is close to the metro station, about a ten or 15 minute walk and their front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. That being said DO NOT STAY HERE. The rooms are very old and unkept. The cleaning staff in my opinion needs to be fired because it is obvious that they do not take their jobs very seriously. As soon as I walked into the room, I found a number of hair pins along with hair all over the floor. But so called kitchen, which I paid money for had a stove full of grease, and a fridge which had blood spilled inside of it!!!!!!!!!!! I called front desk to complain, but I have yet to know if the fridge has been cleaned or not. To those of you that may not care that blood was left in the fridge, I am a vegetarian so I was not pleased with having to put my grocery in a bloody fridge. But that's not the reason for this review. No, I owe it to my cockroach friend that greeted me when I opened the bathroom door. HUGE COCKROACH WITH WINGS. Thankfully he was dead already, but the wonderful cleaning ladies that Quality Inn employs took two days to move it, despite my complaints. Let me also mention that the water was disconnected in the hotel for a number of hours after a water line burst. I understand it was beyond their control, but this was the night before my graduation, and I had to wait for hours until the water was turned back on to shower and do my hair!!!!!!!! Please save your money and go to Hampton Inn further down the street which is a little more pricier but certainly not the dud that this is. The room here was so dusty I ended up getting a sinus infection. Oh and do not be fooled by the shuttle service. On the website, they dont tell you that it is only available at certain times during the day for like 3 hours. Not to mention, the half hour wait in the lobby you have until he comes. BOTTOM LINE: There is no such thing as QUALITY in QUALITY INN. It would be better if it were renamed QUEASY INN.

Friendly Staff and fine location
By Jimmy, 7/20/11
I am Student and want to take admission in University of Maryland. I have to spend one night at Maryland. I found this hotel Quality Inn & Suites College Park, MD. This Hotel is located near to the University. The front desk staff went beyond their way to accommodate me. The Check Inn was fast and quick. The hotel was well maintained. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was clean and smooth. The rooms have chairs and table at the corner. The Bathroom has all the necessary amenities and it was spotless. The Continental Breakfast was delicious and has variety of items like eggs, Bagels, fruits and many more. They have a complimentary shuttle service during commuting hours.

Good value and convenient location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/09
I brought a baseball group (36 people) down from Queens, NY to sight see and catch a Nats-Mets game. We dealt with a Sales Mgr named Pam Bartlett who was extremely professional and courteous. She gave us a special group rate and had all our rooms ready for us when we arrived at 1:30PM. The hotel wasn't the Taj Mahal but it was clean and comfortable. It was close to the DC Subway for easy access to the area transactions. Out of 5 stars, I say it was a 3 but once again great value.

Need little polishing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/07
I would recommend that to all those travelling in large group. Near to University of Maryland. With all the low rates and accessbility to MD university, I can overlook the fact that service is little slow. Maybe because they are maintaining huge property at low rates. Reservations.

I'd think twice before going back.
By asset973, 4/1/07
The rooms in which we stayed in this hotel (and we had two - the first being absolutely filthy) are well-worn and in need of a thorough cleaning (remodelling). Rooms can be noisy, especially when groups of kids are present. Check in and check out took 10 and 20 minutes, respectively, because only one person was working the front desk/outside phone line/house phone. The breakfast buffet was variable, sometimes plentiful and varied, and sometimes spartan. On the positive side, the hotel is located a couple of blocks from U Md College Park, is near a number of restaurants, and is a 4 block (10 min) walk to the Metro station to get into DC.

You get what you pay for
By Herman G, 10/12/06
Like: location, near UMD. Front desk helpful and friendly. Convenient van service. Dislike: Room dreary and somewhat grubby, tired carpet and furniture. Poor TV selection - no PBS or Cspan. Wireless slow. Noisy and old heater and A/C. Hallways grimy and dirty. Lightbulbs missing. Summary: a conveniently located place to crash for one night only if you're a sound sleeper. Relatively low price for the area, yet not cheap. But distinctly depressing room.

Not worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/06
Yes, the location is great, but it does not make up for the shady management and poorly lit, dirty rooms. Beware of extra charges and no help from the shady management. Not worth it, not recommended, even for the price.
