HORRIBLE !!!
By disgruntled, 08/15/07
The air wasn't working in AUGUST !!!!!There was no TV service at all the first two nights. The toilets in our first 2 rooms wouldn't flush. The area is very bad and the hotel was very hard to find. It is not near the metro station. There is no food local except the Italian place at the bottom of the parking lot. The staff seems to have given up. No one is even fazed by the complaints or problems as I'm sure they are nothing new. This really affected our vacation, and I am very upset that we had booked this in advance, and they would not let us out of the reservation. Howard Johnson should be ashamed to have their name on this hotel. It seems as if they let anyone own one of their hotel, and run it however they want. I will never stay at a Howard Johnsons again.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!
By J, 07/15/07
This is the worst hotel I've ever been too. There were ticks in the room that we didn't find until I went to take a shower and I found one with its head buried in my skin!!! Thankfully I did not get lime disease. I had also gotten another the very next day and it was on the back of my head. My brother also got a few, but they did not get into his skin thankfully. The pool had lots of dead bugs floating in it that I only could swim in it for a few minutes. The beds were not very comfortable. Not to mention we found some ticks in the beds. We ended up leaving this place as soon as a hotel in Hanover, MD was available. The breakfast was awfull, and there was a little selection. we ended up going out. The neighborhood was not great. So whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

**The OFFICIAL Review**
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
I read the reviews for this hotel a couple of weeks ago before my family & I actually went, so I was not sure what to expect. This hotel was horrible. It's a little hidden up a hill and behind some trees, hard to spot from the road. Also, there were just random people walking around the parking lot, as it was a way through to a lower level road. Did not feel safe at all. The Italian restaurant down the road was also very expensive. The other regular fast food places around the area had horrible service. We tried to go to Burger King, and all the workers had locked the doors and were sitting inside with their friends. The McDonalds cashier actually pulled out her cell phone while she was taking my order and started text messaging. This place is just not a good area to even be in. The elevator was so small only about three people could get on it at a time, excluding luggage. The room was awful, although the beds were nice, the air conditioner was broken! Having to open the window at night during June just to get some air is certainly not ideal. It's also a few hundred yards from the interstate and is also very close to a local hospital. We heard all sorts of noises throughout the night from ambulances to 18-wheelers. The breakfast was good, but not much selection. You could make your own waffles, and they had a few pastries and some fruit, but nothing special. I don't recommend this hotel at all, especially if with family. We stayed the night of June 1st, 2007, with intentions to stay longer, but after the first night we packed up and went to Ocean City, MD. I must say that was AWESOME and the beach and boardwalk were great. Skip this joke and go there!

I wouldn't really recommend it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/07
The hotel room was big, but the room wasn't really that clean. The tub in the bathroom had hair all in it and the shower head didn't really work. The toliet in our room got stopped up. The tv got VERY FEW channels. The breakfest was nasty. I liked that there was a microwave and mini frige in the room tho. The staff was pretty nice.

Nice place to stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
It is a little off the beaten path if you are with out a car, but they do have transportation to the metro which is nice. You might have a little wait but you just work your schedule. The walk to the metro is about 2 miles but it is a nice and quite area to walk thru, it took about 30 min. I would stay there again! Thanks

If u want great vacations don't go to the HJ
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/06
The hotel was fairly clean. The continental breakfast was't that bad. The place was very far from the main DC attractions, they make it seem like the metro is near... it isn't. The employees are unable to give directions to the hotel, one even hung up on me! The rooms aren't sound proof. You can hear what's going on in the next room... voices, steps and couples.... The building is being repaired so the heavy machinery is very noisy from 8 am on.

Great space and location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/06
The people are so friendly and the rooms are so large, but still warm and cozy. I was so happy with the select of restaurants in the area. Also, wverything looked so new and it was great sleeping - my room was so quiet and peaceful.

Never Go Here!!!!!
By Darein, 03/27/06
This hotel is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Granted the room was a smoking room but it smelled like a 1000 people had been smoking in the room at one time. You could smell it in the hallway. Everything looked grimey. The Comforter that was on the bed smelled like body, the cable stations was fuzzy, I had to buy incensents and spray frebreeze to eliminate some of the smell but when I woke up the next morning I couldn't breathe because of the cigarette order it smelled like someone was sitting there blowing smoke in my face.
