Bedbugs
By nancy, 08/19/09
The rooms look nice at first, but when you look closely, everything is dirty. I noticed that night that there was no soap, so I called the front desk and they said they would send it right up. They did not. So I fell asleep, when I awoke and wanted to take a shower, I called and requested soap again and was told that the housekeeping staff was not there so I'd have to wait; I was ready for a shower. Then housekeeping comes to my door at 10:15 (check-out is at 11:00) asking if I'm checking out, I said no, and I needed soap. She said ok; never returned. At 10:30 housekeeping knocks at my door asking if I'm checking out, I said NO, but I need soap, at this point, as she's walking away, she said here, take this one. After taking a shower, finally, and checking out, I started noticing red marks all over my body and I started itching. My back, arms, legs, butt, feet, hands, everywhere I had red bumps. It had to be bedbugs. I've never had bedbugs in my life, and I will NEVER go back to this hotel again.

I stay here routinely for BWI overnights
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/09
Make sure you stay in the Business Tower ... that's the new part. If you stay in the older "open front" motel themed rooms from the 1970's, those suck. While it's not perfect, when I'm catching a flight out of BWI, it's this for under $100 or right at BWI for $200+

Would never stay there again.
By Patricia, 05/26/09
This hotel was awful. The room I stayed in had roaches, no light in the bathroom (took two days to get it fixed), no water pressure in the sink, towels were dirty, had a stains and a bad odor, no coffee pot (breakfast wasn't until 9am and when we asked for coffee we were told to fix the coffee in our room how do you fix coffee without a pot) nothing in the room worked only less then half of the outlets worked, curtains backing was peeling and light shined through at night, bedspread had burn holes (no smoking room) no tv remote, no ice machine, the meeting room was just has bad as the rooms. Most of the locks for the rooms did not work and if they worked one time they would not work the next. Please do not stay here. A friend of ours had the only working phone and he kept getting messages that he assumed were drug deals since they kept saying they had the money and where was he. I would not of stayed there but I had a meeting to go to and this is where the set it up at.

Dont waste your money!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/08
We recently stopped here on our way home from a family vacation. It was late and we figured that the ramada was a safe bet. The huge low priced extended stay banner should have tipped us off. I will say the clerk working was extremly nice. My husband went in to rent the room while I sat in the car with the kids , a couple walked by that were staying there and were talking about buying drugs. When we went to find our room there were people all over the place and loud music playing and our room was down a narrow dark hallway. I refused to get my kids out of the car and my husband who usually does not like to complain had no problem leaving with or without a refund. I quickly returned to the front desk and told her that I could not allow my children to stay in such a place. She was very understanding and said she would not charge our card. Please dont waste your money I know it may be cheaper than the surrounding towns but this place is not safe. Go to Jessup its about five miles up we stayed at the Holiday Inn it was about double the price but well worth it for the safety of our kids!!

Watch out!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/07
I stayed on the second floor of the Ramada and the room was horrendous. The minute I walked in it smelled like urine. It was a horrible smell and had to air out the room for over an hour. The floors were both stained and wet. Different parts of the room were dry and other parts were wet. It wasn't a very pleasant experience.

Stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/06
The room (#246) was dirty. There were cobwebs behind the door and above the vanity. There were burn marks on the side of the tub. The mattresses were like rocks. This place needs a good refurbishing.

FILTHY
By Jarad, 06/07/06
I booked a total of three rooms for this hotel...all non-smoking. When I arrived each room had a non-smoking sign posted but stunk of cigarette smoke so badly that it made me gag! The carpet was so worn and stained I couldn't tell you what color it was suppose to be, and the beds were visibly sunken in the middle. The smell of urine was prevalent also. This hotel was advertised as a nice place with 2 1/2 stars. However, I found when I arrived the place that was advertised was the inside rooms, not the outside entrance piece of trash rooms I got. I immediately cancelled my reservation and went down the road 8 miles or so to the HILTON GARDENS INN where I and my family had an excellent experience. Bottom Line: if you enjoy fiflth say at the Ramada Inn Laurel Maryland!

Less than $45.00, but somewhat seedy.
By RonaldT, 07/21/05
I guess less than $45.00 a night in the DC area is good, but this is a crowded, dumpy place, with many shifty-eyed guests. The room was "really nice" they said, but the carpet had large gray stains on it? I wonder what the other rooms are like. I was glad to get out of there. I'd probably not stay there again.

Ok when you take the price in account
By Steven, 07/06/05
I had to stay here for three weeks when I relocated to the area for work and my apartment wasn’t ready to move into. I was ecstatic when I bid $40/night on Priceline and this establishment accepted my bid since work didn’t cover my temporary arrangements (rate normally runs $80 to $90). A rate this low is basically unheard of in the DC area. Of course, I wasn’t expecting much at this price and with it being in Laurel, which is not the best town demographically in the area. It looks like just about everyone got in on the $40 deal as white and ghetto trash guests abounded. The motel is a Holiday Inn that has seen better times as there are still remnants from where it once was one. The advertisement and pictures of the enclosed tower are misleading as this is only a small part of the motel, and no rooms are in it. The rooms are in strip-style buildings, and they all open to the exterior. I stayed in four different rooms over the course of three weeks and a weekend before I reported to work. The motel definitely needs some TLC; some rooms were fine while others needed attention having damaged and cheap furnishings (i.e. broken water faucets, bleach spots on the carpet, cigarette burn holes in the paper thin window shades). Based on the banner on the front of the building saying “Under new ownership/Great rates”, it looks like they may be making an attempt to bring things up. Cleanliness was OK except during my last week when I found brown body hair in my bed. Motel staff definitely needs some polish with their etiquette – they weren’t rude, just unpolished. Request to fix some items during my stay one week weren’t addressed. They seemed to have a problem coming up with clean rooms several times when I checked in. One desk clerk even looked at her watch when I presented myself at 3 P.M. once to check in. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, and even then the buffet was pathetic. I never saw anyone eating in there. There is also a bar, which is mainly empty and not regularly open. Not anything great, but given the price it reasonably met my expectations. It could have been worse.

Responsive helpful staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/05
Got the room right, asked for a better location-no problem. Shuttled us to our event nearby and was friendly through it all. Breakfast buffet ok, but I would definitely stay here again.
