Brochure is misleading
By Chris, 08/18/09
Hotel looks remotely like brochure when you are in the lobby that’s where the similarity ends. Rooms and hallways have very low ceilings and make taller people feel like they are in kiddie land. If you are over 6 ft you have to duck to get to the bathroom, not nice in an unfamiliar place at 2am. Staff was "GR8"! They remained helpful and courteous though severely understaffed. The rooms need more attention; mold in shower, dirty carpets, stains/scuff marks on walls, foul smell in room that I remedied with febreze, roll away bed linens stained ($20 extra for bed), Thermostats located directly below the only vent in the room didn't allow room to cool completely.

Avoid at all costs
By Sally, 09/10/08
On the outside, this looks like a nice hotel, sister hotel to Pier 5 and the Admiral Fell Inn. We booked through their website for a suite with two beds, but alas, once we got there they first tried to put us in a tiny room with one bed. We went back down to the front desk to get things sorted out and they told us they didn't have any more suites with two beds (despite the fact that we didn't see a single solitary other guest in two days). So one of us had to sleep on the (uncomfortable) pull-out sofa. Despite the excellent location, I would not stay there again. The bathroom was so tiny that it was almost impossible to turn around in - my husband couldn't even fit through the door unless he walked sideways. Some of the ceilings were very low, so don't stay there if you're claustrophic. Also, the shower curtain was covered in mildew stains, the carpet was filthy and filled with crumbs, and the bedsheets were torn and frayed. With so many other excellent hotels in the area, I'm astonished that Brookshire Inns and Suites gets away with such a low interest level in their hotel's upkeep and customer service. I will definitely not be staying there again.

Some good, some bad...
By Heather, 08/15/08
First, the good things: absolutely beautiful, very clean (although we only stayed one night--so can't attest to them KEEPING it clean daily), excellent location, our one-bedroom suite included a lot of convenience things like hair dryer, iron & board, coffee maker, etc.; sofa bed was already made up, and this was probably the only place that had a full-on hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes... on top of all the normal cold breakfast fare. Staff was extremely courteous. We stayed on the 9th floor while they did 10th floor renovation work and never heard a thing. The bad: the bed was horrifyingly uncomfortable--and I'm not even remotely that fussy with beds. What's worse is that the mattress is made with a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet--so when you pull the blankets back, you loosen the sheet covering the mattress. Add a restless sleeper and what a mess. The parking situation is ridiculous. We stayed at their sister hotel (Admiral fell) 4 years ago and at least they validated parking. We opted to park in the garage across the street for $21... but failed to realize that they start the clock again at 6am. So to park from 5pm to 9am cost us $42 (vs. their $29 valet). We signed up for "Breakfast with Bite" (their mascot) who never showed. The TV in our bedroom was beyond snowy (but the one in the living area was perfect). I felt like I NEEDED to love this place because it was so beautiful, so clean and the staff was so friendly. But honestly, the things I had to complain about made all the difference in our comfort--even for one night. I'm not sure if I'd stay here again. Wish they had a star rating for "comfort".

Watch for hidden charges!
By Tamie, 06/18/08
Our harbor magic vacation was wonderful! The staff was very helpful and the hotel was beautiful, however.... We were informed at check in that there is an extra "destination fee of $9.95" that gets you bottled water and internet every day. Hmmm I thought that was included in the price of the room already!? THEN... you will NOT find any on street parking and this hotel does not have its own parking lot or parking deck so you have to opt for the valet parking at the hotel which is another $29 a day!!! Also, my family and I added an Ed Kane's Water Taxi ride to our package. We went to get on the taxi and the worker informed us that they no longer accept the harbor magic passes and you needed to have just an ed kane's ticket to ride. We already paid for our ed kane's tickets threw harbor magic! So my advice is just be ready for lots of hidden charges. If you can handle them then the rest of the vacation will be awesome....

No Honor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/07
Booked room 6 mos in advance. Confirmed reservation several days before arrival. Checked in at 1pm, signed agreement at AARP rate. Returned to hotel around midnight. They had down graded room from two room suite to a small room. They must have been able to book the room at a higher rate. Left the next day, one day early. The trip was ruined. They own the Admiral Fell Inn and Pier 5 Hotel also. Don't stay at any of them.

Great Package Deals- We loved our visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
We bought a package(Aquarium/Australian Exibit)thru this hotel and we really enjoyed our 1st visit to Baltimore thru them. Anything we wanted to do was easily planned thru the front desk. Parking/drop off is the trickiest thing here, We opted for the valet for $25.00 for the night and it worked well for us. This hotel also stores your luggage so after check-out you can enjoy the last of the Inner Harbor with out worry. The rooms are so clean and it was nice with the living room. Excellent food is all around and with the help of the front desk you are always steered in the right direction. We had a great time on our 2 day trip and Brookshire Suites was a big part of it.

Showing Age
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
The staff was shorthanded but courteous. The rooms were worn, very worn and in need of renovation. Great location, close to inner harbor, plenty of room, breakfast was good. I have stayed here many times over the past 10 years and it is at the end of a wear cycle at the end of summer 06. I remember it being this way once before and then it was subsequently renovated.

Disapointed
By PAUL, 08/24/06
Check in service-one person working and answering phones at the hotels listed check in time. Confusion abound over reservations. No complimentary newspaper. Free breakfast almost nonexistent. Not enough area for the amount of people. Not a sufficient amount of any hot food or fruit to feed the people in the room. Items not availabe until we had eaten a meager amount of food and we were leaving. Not enough staff. Above all incredibly noisy from the outdoors.

Holiday escape
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/05
What a great getaway! We loved the location to the local Restaurants and shops. The staff were extreemly helpful and we loved the hot buffet breakfast every morning with Maurice. We went to the aquarium, hardrock, and power plant live and had a great time. We'll be back

If you like 80's you wil have a good time.
By Kara, 11/25/05
The first couple of times I went there.... came out barely walking due to dancing so much. I love 80s music and recommend friends to go all the time. The last time I went they had more recent music and that was great dancing as well.
