Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort, Ogunquit

My wife and I have been going to the Sparhawk for the last 15 years and have had outstanding service and the rooms are always super clean. The people who work there are like family and go out of their way to make your stay pleasent. We are retired and live most of the year in Englewood FL,now but every time we go back to New England we stop at the Sparhawk. You will be hard pressed to fine a better vacation resort in Maine.

Staff is rude, not what it's cracked up to be. But mainly the breakfast staff especially is rude and nothing to write home about...Would never go back

One of the BEST places to stay in Ogunquit. Very clean and perfectly located with wonderful ocean views. Make sure to book early as rooms sell out quickly during summer season. You will not be disappointed!

I can't find anything negative about the Sparhawk. Very comfortable. Everything you need is basically at your finger tips and if its not just ask. I found the view of the ocean breathe taking. The balcony really made the trip worth it. The staff was very efficient and helpful. I have no problem staying there again.

We stay there every year and have never been disappointed. What a wonderful resort! The pool, the grounds, and the rooms are outstanding. It's convenient to the beach and to Marginal way. The Reillys

There is nothing I didn't like! I loved the location...right at the water, I liked walking on the Marginal Way. I loved the fact that it was so close to the shops...I could walk to them after dinner or any time. It is an ideal location, and the hosts are great!

This hotel will drop you like a fly without even the consideration of a phone call if they have not received a deposit...which they don't make very clear to you.(Refuse credit cards as well.) I made reservations in the winter for our vacation and visit with daughter and grandchildren in the winter. When I called about the reservation, they were absolutely Rude beyond belief when they told me about the fact that they had cancelled us. This is the first time I have dealt with such rude reservation people....who don't care that they about plans you may have made and don't want even to try and accommodate you. They also did this same thing to my daughter's mother-in-law who had booked 2 rooms that were cancelled for the same reason. But luckily in the winter they could accommodate them. It would be best to choose a place to stay with people who care about your reservation, vacation, and your stay with them. Thumbs down to the Sparhawk. Hope others heed this warning, and choose a nicer place as I did.

EVerything you read about the excellent location of tthe Sparhawk is true. Access to town, ocean views, and the MArginal Way ( a paved path along the shore 1 mile long between Ogunquit and Perkins Cove) make this a very good place to stay. I've been there many times. I can't help notice that all the reviews use the word 'froendly' to describe the staff, and my multiple negative experiences with the staff there makes these reviews suspect. They are very good with the 60 + croud (I am 56 myself) but are pretty tolerant and inflexible if you are not a rigid conformist and don't expect anything out of the ordinary. Said kindly, they do not do well with any stress. If you can tolerate them, this is the best place in town.

We stayed at Sparhawk after staying at different places in Ogunquit, and now will never stay anywhere else. The view of the ocean is the best you will find. The only thing I don't like is that you can't make reservations online. That is little to say for a negative, for such a great place to stay. A step above the rest.
