11 reviews for Ramada Inn Bangor, Bangor
Will be going back!
By Star, 10/09/09
Loved the room. Glad to see that pretty much all the negative reviews are before they renovated it. Got a good rate on rooms and rooms was very nice. Nice bathrooms. Shower was one of the best showers I've ever used. Wide big bathtubs as well. Very nice pool with tons of room. Beds were very comfy for the price we paid. We paid $10 less for another hotel last yr. and beds were brick hard. These bads could bounce at least and had cushion. Bed had 4 huge pillows. If you like firm pillows-then you might want to bring your own. These were extra soft but very comfy. Hotel featues and room/bathroom was well worth the price. Will be going back again when we go Christmas shopping.

Ramada is a Rip Off
By Erin, 05/07/08
I frequently get a hotel room in the Bangor area so I can study for my finals. I recently stayed at the Bangor Ramada. I called the front desk and requested the room rate for a single adult and was quoted $89 per night. At check in I verified that the room rate was $89. I then presented a coupon for $20 off the room rate and asked if it was good for only one night or my entire stay. I was told that it was good for my entire stay and that I would pay $69 per night. At check out I noticed I had been billed $89 per night and I mentioned the coupon to the clerk. She pulled the coupon from my billing file and then I told me that the normal room rate was $109 but there was a manager’s special that reduced it to $89 per night. I was told that with or without the coupon I should have been charged an $89 rate. I expressed my dissatisfaction at being quoted $69 and then later being charged $89. I was then rudely given the hand by the clerk before she turned to the customer behind me and asked how she could help them. With the exception of the indoor, pool the rooms are virtually identical to the Howard Johnson across the street in appearance, value and accommodations, but the Ramada is nearly double the price. If an indoor pool and fitness facilities are a desired feature then get a room at the Holiday Inn located a few yards down the street. You pay much higher prices for the Ramada name and do not receive any better value, service or even a nicer room then you would get at the Holiday Inn or Howard Johnson. Don’t be fooled by the advertised “Recently Renovated Rooms.” The Ramada’s rooms are mediocre at best and comparable to an economy style hotel’s rooms.

Top 10 Ramada
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/07
We stay at Ramada's all the time. We have had some bad experiences at some but not this one. The room was very clean, all new, the pool was big and clean. There is also a great nightclub off the lobby that has a DJ. This hotel is hopping and the staff is great. We got a great rate, they said it was a shoppers special.

(She did well considering) The table surfaces are ceramic tile that looks like the grout has NEVER been cleaned - Disgusting. I had baked haddock - my wife had terriaki chicken mine was at best ok - fish overcooked Hers was terrible very dried out Hallways smell old & musty. Carpet in definite need of replacing. Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/07
I stayed here for my kids graduation from the University of Maine and found the hotel staff courteous, the room was large and clean, and the food in the restaurant was good. The bar was the most fun I have had in a long time. This is a great hotel that gets my business from now on.

unbelievable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/07
For starters the noise in the next room stopped us from sleeping till 12:00 PM. The walls seemed to be paper thick we could hear their conversations as if we were in the same room. Bathtub dirty and drain plugged. Overall dated and stinky. After having reserved the room for 2 nights, the morning following the first night we were told that they needed to have the room we were staying in for a group of people checking in. Went to another close Hotel instead on second night and had a wonderful stay!!!

Will not go back again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/23/07
We had a Non-Smoking room and the hallways as well as the room smelt terribly of cigerette smoke, I have a hard time with smoke and was a having a difficult time breathing in turn did not sleep well. The room was clean. The halls leading to the rooms were dirty with construction debris all over the place. I was very surprised in all of these complaints as the lobby looks so beautiful.

national lampoon's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/07
did they film national lampoons 'vacation' at this hotel? i'd swear i was walking on the set of a movie considering the aged quality of this hotel. please time-warp to 1990! they do not even deserve the point they got, but you cannot submit a zero rating. best part of the trip--driving out of the parking lot and resolving never to stay there again.

Not impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/06
This hotel was semi-updated, but it needed a complete overhaul. It smelled horrible in the halls and room even though we had a non-smoking room. The linens were clean but were low-quality, and the beds were uncomfortable. The service was good though, and the hotel (I'd call it a motel) is close to the airport.

A little buggy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/06
We paid $99.00 for this room. It was roomy, clean and easy to get to. We had some candy wrappers on our bedstand and the next morning we had ants in the wrappers. We mentioned it to the front desk and one of the girls answered "That's summer". For that price I would prefer to be bugless thank you.
