Linnell Motel & Rest Inn, Rumford

For goodness sake, do not stay at this motel. We stayed there Christmas Eve and were thoroughly disgusted. By the time we got to the room that night, it was 10:00 and we really had no other option but to stay there. There were water stains on the ceiling, stains on the rugs, holes in the sheets, a hole in the shower surround. The water didn't work right in the shower (husband had to slam the handle to get the water to turn off). We couldn't get the room to warm up more than 67 degrees, even though we set it to 75. I could hear water dripping all night and we think it was in the walls. It smelled moldy. I wrote a letter to the motel owners asking for my money back, and have had no response. I have called and left messages 4 times for the manager with no response. Again, do not stay there. It would be worth it to stay at Sunday River and drive into Rumford.

After reading review, our team decided to stay after seeing the rooms. We were competing at Black Mountain, US Cross Country Nationals. The rate was reasonable, the staff was nice, rooms were clean and hot water was consistent. The breakfast was good. Location was great. No complaints, other then lack of snow everywhere.

The title says it all. There was no hot water in the rooms and the girl at the front desk repeatedly lied about when a manager would be available. The rooms were gross and smelled bad. This is the nastiest place I ever stayed and they charge WAY to much for the rooms. Believe all the bad reviews they are true!

This place is dirty. Tried to get a refund got the run around. Very dishonest people. Severely outdated and dirty. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. The good reviews are more than likely fake. Someone said a nice little piece of Americana.. No!! Save yourself the headache and stay away from this place!

Made a reservation 2 weeks before - drove until 9PM -(crooked roads in the dark) to keep our committment and they certainly did not keep theirs. Room smelled so much like urine you didn't want to breath. Charged us $20 too much and there was no food for our free breakfast NOT EVEN COFFEE. Check out lady said she could not make refunds. Over the next month we probably called 8 times, talking to Tom twice. We still as of 5/11 have not had one penny refunded to us. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE

We went to a ski event at Black Mountain of Rumford Maine. Stayed at the Linnell Motel off route 2 next to Mardens Plaza. The room we got was spacious, the staff was very courteous, the facility was very accomodating. Great amenties, too. Based on the reviews, I was a little skeptical, but after staying there I would recommend this motel/hotel. I come to find that every person has their own opinion, so its best to make your own judgements. Just my understanding.

WHAT A MESS THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE LOCATION. this place was the most discustion place i have ever be to couldnt belive the dirt and un clean rooms it looked like nobody vacumed the floor in years the sheets looked like the have been on the bed for awhile couldnot belive a place like that was still around been to some whore houses that are cleaner than this place some one should turn them in to the health department will never go back to this motel and everyone should just skip it to

It appears to me that most of the previous Linnell Motel reviews are critical and unfair. I stayed there one night last week, had a wonderful rest in their quiet, countryside location, and appreciated the generous hospitality of staff. My dog and I felt very much at home - I look forward to visiting with the folks at Linnell Motel again. No issues - everything worked great. Thanks for mailing my post card, Thomas.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Roaches and dirt. No One can tell the truth at this place. Lie after lie especially from Thomas the manager. What a dump!!

"Dishonest" is the only word that comes to mind. All of our dealings were with "Thomas" (would not ever give his last name.) From the price quotes to refunds for services not provided, everything he told us was Untrue. The place was horrible and what is worse is...they don't care ! They only want your money and there are absolutely no refunds for anything! I could go on and on but suffice to say..there are many other very nice places in Rumford and the surrounding area. This place is really BAD !! DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY UNLESS YOU GET IT IN WRITING!!!
