Limited choices
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
I travel to Presque Isle quite a bit on business. Most of the hotels in this area cater to truckers or snowmobile riders and will probably run you around $50. But you get a room that $50 pays. The motor inn was turned on to me by a client of mine. Average stay is around $100 but snowmobile season will cost you more. You will get a clean room and a bed thats been changed. You will get a boat load of TV channels. The bathroom will be clean although it may need a little touch up. Look if your looking for the Ritz go to Boston but the Presque Isle motor inn is probably the closest your going to get in this part of the country.

A DUMP
By Cha, 5/22/07
The only good thing about this place is Gram Russo's. The rooms are dirty. The front desk people are nasty and they even screen your phone calls. Don't ever except a room on the lower level. The temp stay at a level 110 degrees!

Update to Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/05
I received a call from the owner today ( 11/3/05 ), I was pleasantly surprised that he would take the time to call to discuss my concerns. I was informed that the room/suite ( 351) indeed was not one of the rooms that had been upgraded which is what my wife and I suspected, and we had his apologies along with the offer to make it right on our next trip. I was informed that I was mistaken on the fire alarm system that it was working and that a whole new system was being installed. I will take the gentlmens word. I appreciate that the owner would take the time to call and follow up on my concerns.. ( K ) ..my wife and I will indeed take you up on your offer to stay there again...and thanks for the follow up...it is impressive

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/05
The one true honest review was from the gentlemen "ngmckay"...the people are very nice...the restaurant located in the hotel was good..the room..and we had a suite "351"...are not worth the time. My wife and I were so disenchanted we left a day early, maybe other rooms were done over and are great but this one wasnt one of them. The lighting was so poor I wasn't sure what was in the room. A word of caution ! at our time of stay ( 10/2005 )the fire alarm system was not working and this is a fairly older wood building. In fairness, the owners are making improvements..but we feel misled by the web site and my personal conversation with the "kid" answering the phone when I called there direct to make the reservations

GREAT STAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/05
We just returned from a week long stay at this fine hotel. Growing up in the county I remember going to this property with my family, when it was known as the Swamp Fox. It was a true joy to have this hotel in our small town. I returned a few years back and was very, very much sadned that the ownership let the old girl go down so bad and have a staff of missfits. After searching the net and speaking to family they informed me that I would be pleased with my return trip. WOW, what a pleasure! The place looks great, better even than the $$$$$ chain hotels. The rooms are beautiful and the decor is pleasing. It is wonderful to see such a good eye for color with out killing the charm with to much modernization and prefabed decour. The staff was VERY helpful, friendly curtious! The dinning room Manager is a doll.... GI-Joe! The food, service and menu are just what they said true authentic Italian food. It is wonderful to know that Pets are welcome, I guess our next trip we will. My husband even had the chance to meet and chat with the owner, another true gentelman it is obvious for sure why everthing is 100%. Thank you for a great stay and we look forward to our return trip and to see the finished product. C.H.

Exceeded my expectations
By Robb, 9/20/05
Excellent service & staff. The food was incredible. Northern Maine was spectacular. Everything about the hotel and area was more than I could have asked for. Well worth it to choose this hotel!

A good place
By Eric L, 9/2/05
I was in Presque Isle for business and after reading the review of 5/31/04, I too was a bit nervous about staying here. Fourtunately i found none of the complaints that were described in that post. My room was clean and neat and had all of the things you would need (alarm clock, ironing board, cable tv, wireless internet service in the rooms). The Italian resturaunt on site was a good place to eat too. I will definately plan on staying again next time i have to be in that area.

Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/05
A great time was had at the 2005 H.O.G. Rally in Northern Maine. I traveled to this rally with four other groups. We toured the stae in the 5 mile long ride over 300+ miles from Portland Maine. The Hotel was great, rooms although the furishing are a little out dated, the are in great shape and functional. I know from asking that there is a master plan and they will be replacing it all. The decour is stunning and amenities can not be beat. The food in Russo's Restaurant was the BEST, FINEST, Italian Restaurant we have been to. The staff was very accomodating and very pleasent all the time we were there. There were a lot of Rally Riders and we heard all Good. We will return here. The other writer must have been at the hotel across the street, we hear that place is a disaster!

Everyone deserves a second chance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/05
Last time I stayed at the Presque Isle Inn it was under a different owner, I believe the name of the hotel at that time was Country View or County View. After my stay five years ago, I swore if I was ever back up in the area I wouldn't stay at that hotel, it was in ruins. While planning my trip up here this time I went online and saw their website, the pictures showed a new look for the hotel. When I booked the room I was happy with my 80.00 corporate rate. To make a long story short, I was wrong not to think I would give this hotel another shot. I tip my hat to the owner and his staff, everything from check-in to check out was tremendous. Service, room quality and cleanliness not to mention the food at Gram Russo's is probably the best Italian food I have ever had.
