This motel looked okay from the outside, and the people at the front desk were nice enough...but the bed was hard as a cement slab! Not conducive to a good night's sleep. Plus, when I dropped a coin and looked underneath the bed to find it---I don't think anyone had cleaned underneath it for a year! There were dust bunnies galore. The only reason I don't give it an "awful" rating is because, since it had 'wood looking laminate' on the floor instead of carpeting, it didn't have that residual smoke odor that so many "non-smoking" rooms have.
This was one of the filthiest places I ever stayed.

I've stayed in a lot of motels in my travels, and numerous Motel 6 locations throughout the Southwest. This was the poorest example of room cleanliness I ever saw. If I hadn't been so exhausted, I would have certainly changed lodgings.
Mind you, this stay was in 2001. I'm returning to Baton Rouge this year but, believe me, I'm seeking reasonably priced lodging with a CLEAN room.
Also at the time, the pool/spa advertised was not in working condition and had not been for some time, per desk clerk.
