Hotel De La Monnaie, New Orleans

Our family has stayed here twice. The fantastic (!) location is across the street from the Farmers Market & the Old Mint which is now a museum, and around the corner from a great blues bar. 2 blocks & you are right in the French Quarter, 1 block to the River Walk.
Well-priced accommodation, friendly & responsive staff, an open air courtyard & small kitchens for those who wish to save by doing some cooking (get your food across the street at the Market or 2 blocks away at a grocery store.

The Hotel de la Monnaie is actually a hotel/timeshare property. When the timeshares are not being utilized the rooms are rented out. It's a nice hotel that fits in nicely with the charm of New Orleans. It's situated on the fringe of the French Quarter near the Riverwalk and just a block or two from the daily Farmer's Market which is always a fun stop! The staff at the hotel are very accomodating
and I recommend you visit the hotel even if you're staying elsewhere. You may want to try it in the near future.
