Hotel De La Monnaie, New Orleans

The amenites are wonderful. The services and housekeeping are the best. Right at the end of the French Quarter by Cafe Du Monde and the trolley line. Consierge service - so helpful.

The image on this site is not the Hotel De La Monnaie on Esplanade. The de la Monnaie is a single building on a tree lined street with an underground parking garage. The entrance is covered with awing and the balcony is visible from the street. The rooms are suites including a kitchenette, whirlpool tub and sofa-bed in the sitting room. Decorated with antiques, the rooms are small but comfortable. Your privacy is respected, the staff is professional. It's very comfortable

This is not the front of the Hotel de la Monnaie on Esplanade Blvd. The Hotel is attractive w/ a 2nd story front outdoor mezzanine for lounging. The location is great (1 block) in relation to the French Market/Quarter. Being a small hotel, staff recognize who belongs there, w/ buzz-in entry after hours. Free, secured parking on the premises (if you get there early enough). Cozy units w/ mini-kitchen, jacuzzi tub, separate bedrooms w/ TV, in-wall "safe" that you program. Staff is very knowledgable and helpful w/ local/area tourist attractions info and reservations. Very secure feeling.

Our family has stayed at the Hotel de la Monnaie on several occasions. The location, accomodations and sevice personnel were outstanding. We loved the Secure Indoor parking and the proximity to the French Quarter and great local clubs and restaurants.

What a great location right by the trolley stop, walking distance to the quarter and other nice restaurant and jazz spots. We had a great time - so much so that I just mailed in a check to purchase our own timeshare unit. Can't wait to go back. Carol and Dick Kempiak Arizona

I have stayed in 4 timeshares in the New Orleans area and this is the best. My unit was a spacious 1 bedroom with mini kitchen with lots of windows. Just on the border of the French Quarter and only blocks away to Frenchmen Street where they have the best music around. The staff were excellent. The best housekeeping I have ever had..THANKS ALBERTA... There is coin laundry on site.

Great Location! Walking distance to French Market, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and Frenchman Street. Could have been cleaner. Limited kitchen can be a problem. Staff friendly, but not very helpful.

great location, steps from the street car and decatur st., but overall, a run-down, rather shabby property. the main reasons we chose the la monnaie was the whirlpool tub. yes, technically there was one, but not one you'd actually want to bathe in (if hygiene is at all important to you) it was cracked, peeling, stained and just very old. the furniture is old, uncomfortable and sorely needs replaced. 'continental elegance' it aint! to their credit, the mattress was nice and firm and the housekeeping staff did a good job. this is a time share hotel, though, so maybe that has something to do with it. we were guests of people who graciously offered their time share to us. if we'd actually paid, i'd have found another hotel. service was subpar, as well, unfortuneatly. just not too friendly or helpful for the most part. if you have another time share option in the quarter, i'd check it out first before staying here.

My wife and I and our 2 year old stayed there for our first visit to New Orleans. The rooms were small and crammed, but after 2 days you get use to it. The bathroom was very small as well. The combo bath was not a bath to lie down and stretching your legs completely. The side of the tub was very high. It was not easy to step in or out of tub. The room was cleaned daily. The service staff were very courteous and helpful. The location was not convenient for us. We had to walk several blocks to find places to eat. We probably will stay somewhere else next time we visit.

The people and the atmosphere of the Hotel de la Monnaie is outstanding. I feel as though they take the time to make each person's stay as enjoyable as possible. It's like my year is not complete until I make a visit there. Thanks for all the effort put in to making me feel so special.
