Hotel De La Monnaie, New Orleans

This was my first trip to NOLA and I had no idea where to stay. One of my traveling companions had stayed at the de la Monnaie previously and booked the rooms for the trip. All of the staff I interacted with was friendly. The suites were more than sufficient for our group's needs. Loved the bathrooms with marble floors and jacuzzi tubs. The balcony is beautiful at sunset. Parking was limited but we were accomodated easily. Location great for French Quarter activities but still quiet enough for anyone wanting peace for rest.

We stayed at the De La Monnaie for 5 days and found the accommodations great. We were within easy walking distance from the Quarters and other places around the hotel. Our overall opinion of the hotel was very good. The rooms were sufficient for our needs. The overall appearance of the hotel and our rooms were clean. Our towels were changed daily as expected. It was quiet at night and the hotel staff were very good also. They were very helpful with any questions or requests we made. While the bedroom was small, the bed was comfortable. With a living room the size of the bedroom was not a problem. There was a safe in the room which worked out very well for us. We would definitely consider staying there again when we return to New Orleans.

I stayed there for 3 days and LOVED it!! The rooms are good size, parking, LOCATION, the wading pool was refreshing!! The staff was great!! Thank you Steve and Delilah!! You are the best! I am coming back again next year and hope to see ya'll there!!

I recently stayed at the Hotel De La Monnaie for Jazz fest 2008. The staff are great and helpful in every way. Our room , a single was very roomy and the small kitchen makes it feel like home. The location and parking puts it way above other hotels. The nightlife on Frenchman St is right around the corner and nearby restaurants make it the ideal. Bill Weinschenk

I loved everything. What a location. very comfortable, staff very helpful and went out their way. Close to everything. Trolley across the street, old mint and french quarters within walking distance. simply right spot to be. Wow! Madigra was Grand!!! Highly recommended to all.

We were there on a timeshare swap and it was great. You couldn't beat the location for convenience - being near Frenchman St as well as the Quarter was fantastic when it rained and you just want to get somewhere to eat that's quick! Endorse the comments about housekeeping - total care. The rooms were fine - if you're a Brit the size and signs of not being brand new are not to worry about. I was in the whirlpool bath most nights. Specially when it rained!!! Would happily go back any time - and would consider buying na week if we didn't already have enough to swap anyway. Thanks.

after katrina came to new orleans worked for fema lived in hotels for 12 mths this was the best better than hilton and royal senesta thanks miss you guys you were very nice thanks again roy scruggs

The amenites are wonderful. The services and housekeeping are the best. Right at the end of the French Quarter by Cafe Du Monde and the trolley line. Consierge service - so helpful.

The image on this site is not the Hotel De La Monnaie on Esplanade. The de la Monnaie is a single building on a tree lined street with an underground parking garage. The entrance is covered with awing and the balcony is visible from the street. The rooms are suites including a kitchenette, whirlpool tub and sofa-bed in the sitting room. Decorated with antiques, the rooms are small but comfortable. Your privacy is respected, the staff is professional. It's very comfortable

This is not the front of the Hotel de la Monnaie on Esplanade Blvd. The Hotel is attractive w/ a 2nd story front outdoor mezzanine for lounging. The location is great (1 block) in relation to the French Market/Quarter. Being a small hotel, staff recognize who belongs there, w/ buzz-in entry after hours. Free, secured parking on the premises (if you get there early enough). Cozy units w/ mini-kitchen, jacuzzi tub, separate bedrooms w/ TV, in-wall "safe" that you program. Staff is very knowledgable and helpful w/ local/area tourist attractions info and reservations. Very secure feeling.
