Save yourself the horror
By AB, 10/06/09
The staff was nice and breakfast was good, however that does not make up for everything else. I've never paid this much for a room this bad (and it was only $70). As a matter of fact, I've never stayed in a room like this. The wall paper was peeling off the wall, one of the beds was lopsided (as in slanted, the base for the mattress was uneven), my sheets had dark spots on them (though they smelled clean), the carpet was moist when I walked barefoot (I didn't spend much time barefoot), and there was no hair dryer (though other rooms had them). The bathroom gets a separate paragraph: The tiles on the floor was not sealed/caulked, so the tiles moved and were mildewy, the walls had mildew, the shower curtain had mildew, and finally the plastic shower wall was not attached the real wall (I noticed that the shower wall was not sealed to the tub, and sure enough, when I leaned on the support bar, the shower wall came away from the real wall. There was probably mildew behind it too.)

Good hotel room for my visit.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/09
I had a reservation, went in early to make sure that i could get a room by the pool, they were going to accomadate me but had no rooms close by, but once they had realized that i did have reservations they did say my room was by the pool so i was pretty happy and happy for Granddaughter.(Make sure you have reservations and ask if possible that the room can be where u would like it to be) As for the room, it was fine, the temperature in the room was nice and cool and i found the room to be fine for what i needed, a room to sleep in for the night and a nice pool. The Lobby area was nice and clean and the employess were very nice and helpful. (An FYI to self for the future, if you plan to turn in early do not get a room by the pool, many were still out at the pool laughing and being loud, the pool stayed open til 10pm)

the worst in Leesville, L.A.
By Cindy J, 02/26/09
I liked nothing about this place. I payed for my room, the lobby looked nice and clean, the desk clerk had on a very nice uniform...well that's all just a disguise. I walked in the room and it stunk soo bad. I took my shoes off and the carpet felt damp. There were holes in the wall that looked like they'd been filled with toothpaste. There was a pencil stuck in the wall that no one bothered to remove. The bathroom was filthy. The t.v. channels were very very limited. I have 5 kids and there wasn't any channels for them to watch. There was sooo much noise all night. About 2 hours after I finally got my kids to sleep the late night crowd came through and they were sooo loud. We got over that and went back to sleep just to be woke up a little later to the sound of a drunk crazy man trying to break down the door next to my room. Screaming, cussing, talking filthy. It sounded like he was literally trying to tear down the door. The next morning i was going to make coffee and there was old coffee grounds in the pot still with mold on them!! Never again will I stay there!! ~no the experience was not fun ~no i would not recommend it to thers ~it absolutely was not worth the money

People should come first
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/08
The management was cold and inconsiderate. There were no wheelchairs or rooms for "special need individuals. I was told I could not reserve my room and that I may not have the rooms if someone came in five minutes before I arrived. I told them that it would probably take me an hour, it still did not matter to them. We needed rooms due to Hurricane Gustav. I think that they were concerned about money and not people. They even cancelled the continental breakfast. The rooms were over priced ($90), they were not very clean and had mildew stains in the bathrooms. The only friendly refreshing face was the desk clerk(Denise). It served to be in a convenient location for us, but I would not recommend it to anyone unless it is an absolute "must."

Stayed There Multiple Times
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/08
Everyone has their own set of standards. Some people are just as happy sleeping in a tent as an air conditioned suite. I'm not the pickiest person, but when I pay for a hotel I draw the line at "dirty." The hotel is antiquated, like an old '60s vintage Holiday Inn someone bought out and renamed. Rooms are not particularly clean. Beds are comfortable but the bedding blankets seem as if they aren't always clean. Bathrooms are a disaster. I've been in four of these rooms and this is consistent issue. Lack of vents keeps humidity high when showering, and the mildew is everywhere. Shower curtains are also mildewed. "Free" breakfast is always the same and very basic. It's not terrible, but some days are far better than others. The first time I stayed they were out of all hot food before 7:00 AM. (Really...how hard is it to count the number of guests in your hotel and multiply the number of eggs you cook based on that number? This doesn't seem like rocket science.) Scrambled eggs are almost always overcooked. Cook doesn't seem to like his job from the attitude he displays in the dining room. The man does a fair job cooking bacon and sausage. Hotel is quiet...if you can get by the other issues, it's easy to sleep. Cable service is okay. Internet available in lobby (one computer). Front desk staff is minimally cordial. Pool and community bathrooms are clean. Parking is good. I haven't sampled the restaurant's menu. Bar appears nice, although I haven't spent time there.

Overpriced dump
By cupcakelover, 08/08/06
Our room wasn't very clean (there was hair on the bathroom floor and mildew on the walls). The air conditioner was very noisy and the room looked like it hadn't been remodeled since the 1960s. For $70 a night I wasn't expecting a lot, but I've stayed in cheaper hotels that were cleaner and better equipped than this place.

Awful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/06
Poor service from the front desk. Most employees seemed disgruntled. Guests are warned not to steal towels (not that I was planning on it but, what kind of hotel needs to do this?) Television reception is intermittent and fuzzy at best. Chairs and bedspreads were stained. Restuarant meals seemed to be prepared by putting various canned foods on a plate and (mostly) heating it. I would have preferred to stay in a Motel 6... If only there were better options in Leesville.

Not bad for Leesville
By Jared L, 12/21/05
There are not many choices in Leesville, LA. So, when you find something that works, stick with it. I've been here a couple of times and for the most part the place is very nice. The building is motel style with the majority of the rooms being accessible from the outside, but the rooms are very clean. I do recommend this place if you ever find yourself heading to Leesville.
