Days Inn Slidell, Slidell

We reserved our room on-line for a slightly reduced rate. Upon arrival we were instructed to return the remote control upon departure...that gave me an idea of what to expect! The room was located on the second floor and the walkway was so slanted, we thought it was going to fall. The door had a 2 inch gap with light showing through to the inside. The carpet was worn, looked dirty, the wall plaster was cracked, the floors were soft as if there was a large amount of water damage. The bathtub which I would not use was tilted as well and not to mention the mildew all in the tile! The sheet had a cigarette burn and the box springs was ripped. If we had not been exhausted and needed sleep we would have demanded a refund...instead we left at 4:00 AM to continue our travel. I cannot believe the place is in business. Earlier, we had a pleasant stay at LaQuinta down the street, but they were booked. Now I understand why Days Inn was not!
