The beds are worth the stay.
By Bigkane, 12/26/09
My wife and I stayed here about a month ago and I'll have to say we were very pleased. Yes it's an older place but it was clean and the price was fantastic. I've never slept better in my life away from home than I did on the memory foam mattress setup they've got. Slept for a solid 7hrs without even waking up. Makes me wanna go out a buy one for our home. Anyway it's a convenient place to stay, with a Logans Steakhouse right across the street, you can't go wrong.

Rooms were decent in size, rooms smelled of smoke and mildew. Made the whole stay feel like i was in a dirty room. Pricey for this room

Good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/08
We spent 3 days at the Cambell House in June 08 and were very happy with hotel. This a very old style, high class hotel with dark wood lobby, nice rooms with large bathrooms, great beds, plush towels... the kind of place that old money would stay at but at a good price. It is just across the street from St.Josphes Hospital- close enought to walk. It is close to the downtown civic center and not far to the hwys headed east to boubron conutry. Few thing that keep this from being 5 stars- no free breakfast bar- although they have a full resturant that you can eat in or get room service. Resturant is not worth the cost for a sit down meal, although I heard good things about the Sunday buffet. I would stay here again with plesure- just eat out for a better deal.

Very nice hotel - I'll stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/08
I was very leery of staying here due to the negative comments on other on-line reviews I read. However, since the conference I was attending was held here, I decided to bite the bullet and stay. I am so glad I did. Even though some areas of the hotel were undergoing major repairs due to damages received in a storm that recently went through the area, it was not obvious. The room was well proportioned, everything was clean, and sleeping on the tempurpedic beds is not to be missed! This is a really nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. It's easy to get around the Lexington area from the hotel and it's close to the hospitals. The business center with computer access was very useful. The attached cafe area was a nice touch, too. Don't let the negative comments in other reviews keep you away.

SAD
By Scott, 02/23/08
The bathroom was very small. The closet opening was so small you had to turn sideways to hang up your clothes. The bathroom was remodeled in nice colors but it's a shame the exhaust fan was not replaced as well. It was so noisy it would wake you up from a sound sleep when the person in the next room would turn their fan on. Upon check-in the toilet rocked from side to side; they responded promptly but did not fix it completely. The toilet continued to rock slightly. Poor remodeling job in general. Our room number was 2101.

Highly Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/07
Rooms smelled like mold and mildew. Obviously the hotel had major water damaged that was not completely renovated. Small roach found in the bathroom. Dark dreary hotel. Bad lighting in the hotel and the rooms. Mold smell is the worst. Have stayed at the hotel several times over the past year to no avail. Simply stayed because it was the best location for my visit. Will never stay again.

great rest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/07
I was in lexington with my son who had to have two day of testing done at an area hospital. he suffered a head injury last year when someone tried to rob him at work. the testing was very hard on him and i was extemely tired. we live almost four hrs away. the room was great, the bed very comfortable and for the first ever i had enough pillows. we stayed in a smoking room on the inside of the building. when we came into the room i noticed windows i was puzzled knowing our room was on the inside the view was beautiful it over looked the inside pool and actually had flower boxes under the window. the pictures in the room and hallways was beatiful. the staff was very friendly and helpful and the most professional i have ever met. i have stayed at many hotels from ky to fla. and this was one of the nicest i had ever stayed in including hotels on the beach. i want to thank the staff there for making a hard expierence a little pleasant.

Never Again!
By Mila, 07/19/07
Reserved a smoking room weeks in advance and upon arrival all they had were non. Called directly to hotel to reserve rooms just so there would be no miscommunication. Girl at desk blamed everyone but herself. Her brilliant solution was to offer us a room by a door. It was 7 degrees outside with snow and wind. Yeah, right. She also hyped the guest care package that was supposed to be in our room. It wasn't and when I called the desk about it, I was told one would be sent. Housekeeping later informs us they've been out of them for weeks. More excellent desk communication. Lights in bathroom burnt out. On the 2nd day our key cards no longer worked. Went to the desk and we were ignored for 10 minutes at least (standing there with our hands full.) Absolutely know staff saw us there. Hallways dimly lit and carpets felt dirty. Beds and room service were great! Not what I had expected and will not be returning event for pecan chicken in bed.

Don't believe the pictures
By elizabeth, 06/15/07
Room was tiny! After complaining we were upgraded to a suite (at our expense). It was still very plain. The bathroom was so small only one person could go in at a time. Bed was very comfortable. The location is good and the staff was somewhat helpful. The restaurant was great but a bit pricey. I have stayed in better suites in the Holiday Inn.

We loved our stay
By T.R., 06/03/07
We were very comfortable at this lovely hotel. If going back to Lexington were in our plans, we most surely would stay there. The staff was helpful, the room clean and the buffet was awesome in the restaurant.
