Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas

Barren River State Park is one of the best unknown places in the South! As a child, during Easter vacations, my parents would travel from Michigan to Barren River. We traveled with 10 or more families every year and Barren River was the place to be. Lots of wonderful memories. As an adult I have recaptured the memories by taking my two young active children to Barren River. They absolutely love it! There is alot to do, alot to see and best of all it is nature at its finest. It is not a tourist trap and the people are so very friendly. We have even gone to the Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds! There is dancing outside under pavilions, horseback riding, the beach. The local radio station comes out to the beach on the weekends and has games and prized for the kids of all ages, even the adults get in on it. You have your choice of the motel with the lodge, camping or cabin rentals. Whatever your style of vacation is Barren River State Resort will be a refreshing place for you and your entire family!
