No standards for quality control?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/11/09
Doesn’t Travelodge have any type of standards for quality control? I had the misfortune of staying at Travelodge Dodge City, Kansas between March 23, 2009 and March 31, 2009. The reason I call it a misfortune is because of the sanitary conditions of my room. I do not consider myself a fussy person, but the filth that I encountered was disgusting after changing rooms three times and finally accepting room 108.
The room I stayed in was dirty, stained carpets, mildew in bathroom, dirty linens and towels. I would be very surprised if you have not been aware or contacted in regards to these conditions in the past by other frequent travelers. Surely, I am not the only frequent travel guest that you have heard complaints from, about the conditions of the room.
I won’t even mention the difficulties I encountered in the parking areas and sidewalks regarding the snow and ice accumulations that were never dealt with by management.
Because your business caused the problems, we expect you to work with us to obtain a satisfactory resolution. Specifically, we expect you to:
(1) Credit our Rewards account (114830494G) with the proper amount of reward points.
(2) Provide us with 4 free nights which will be good for the next calendar year (dates of travel and location to be our choice).
Please call me before April 20th with confirmation that our requests will be honored. If I don't hear from you, I will report this to the appropriate regulatory agencies in Kansas.
(For Samantha) From our experience, this situation was a dramatic letdown from the superlative service that we usually receive from your hotels. In fact, we have always been loyal to your firm because of the exemplary treatment we have received from your attentive staff. We suggest that you coach this hotel owner in the proper procedures and in customer relations. Their behavior does not reflect positively on Travelodge.
(For Operator) I hope this letter will encourage you to expeditiously investigate the cleanliness of the rooms you offer to your travel guests. There is really no excuse for a less than perfect room, never mind the filth that was evident in the room that I was given. Raise your quality control standards and procedures, or find a new business.
Sincerely yours,
