What more lackluster things can we pay for?

If you come with a device that needs wifi access, expect to pay $10 a day.. PER device. My phone, my wife's laptop, my computer, all $10 a day , each, for our 3 day stay. I went ahead and stuck with the 3G on the phone.. but sadly lost $60 total on our 2 computers, just to have internet access. I've heard of internet costing before, but not when you get nothing for it. The connectivity was horrible. I spent most of the evenings reconnecting over and over and trying to access some programs and videos online. Apparently $10 a day, per device, means you can google search only.
I passed on the opportunity to fly in and out of the city, even at work's expense, because they would pay for gas if my wife and I drove. I figured this was a nice opportunity to come to Indianapolis, where we'd never been, and venture around it. I had no idea they would charge $26 per day to park at the hotel, room or no room. But if you want to leave during the day? You now have to park the car valet to avoid paying every time you go in and out. That cost is $32 per day. Again, I've heard of hotel parking, but this is absurd for the quality of hotel we are at. $150 in just parking and internet.
The front desk was very rude when we arrived. We had a few questions about parking, the missing ice bucket in our room, the empty tissue box for my sick (and pregnant, though this doesn't much matter, just icing on the cake really) wife, and internet use obviously. We suddenly felt outclassed, as if this stay was too prestigious for us because we were so uninformed. We kind of sulked back up to our room to plan the entire evening out so we had to spend as little time as possible in the room. It was very depressing to spend the next hour trying to get the internet to connect to larger programs/sites than email or google over and over, call multiple times to room service for a box if tissues, and to use a trash can with a bag in it as our ice bucket.
The room itself was well kept, slightly better than the Super 8 we'd stayed at the night before on our way in (free wifi and parking by the way), but it had no amenities or features to stand out from a Holiday Inn or any other plain hotel stay. No refrigerator or microwave was pretty disappointing. This casued all leftovers after eating out to get thrown away since there was no point in taking them back . Instead they decided to put a giant candy bar vending machine-like box where a mini-fridge was in our Super 8 room, and a price list of $5-$6 per candy bar on top of it. There was a half eaten snickers in there from a previous person.. I let the front desk know, but I'm sure we will be charged for it any way. Though I assume we will also get a courtesy charge of $15 for simply letting them know about it. (That last part was sarcasm, but still wouldn't surprise me at this point.) I'm sitting in the room now on our second night, eager to check out in the morning to just go drive around, as I did not pay the extra $6 on valet parking today, so I haven't left the hotel other than what is in walking distance (which is a good amount if you're interested to know, it is a nice location, but so is the alley we could have slept in a block over..)
I'd recommend this hotel to people who have no idea what to do with leftover cash, or who must stay close to downtown when everything else is booked. Luckily, work will pay for the hotel itself, but I'd never have stayed here by choice now. If the employees had attempted to care, it may have felt worth the price.. maybe. But the overall level of customer appreciation/service is severely lacking. The conference rooms are nice and very numerous, so I see why businesses put people up here, but I'd like to think a hotel wouldn't bank on those alone to get people in the door. The location is very nice, but it is all you pay for apparently, because nothing else is worth it.
