The worst trip ever for the most money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/09
I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone, the rooms were expensive, the food was lousy and expensive, and the staff at the casino and hotel were rude and very unhospitable. For nearly $250 a night, I think they could act like they appreciate your patronage and presence. I will never visit this hotel or this town again.

Beautiful place!!!
By , 11/28/08
We just got back from a night at this hotel. We had a wonderful time. The Christmas decorations were just beautiful. Our room was top notch and we got an unbelievable senior citizen rate of $65 for three people. We are already planning on going back. Our only disappointment was the buffet. We would never go back there, probably the worst buffet I have ever eaten at, and I've been to a lot of them.

Family can't wait to go back!
By IndianaVisitor, 08/01/08
We stayed for the first time over the 4th of july and it was great, They have two grand hotels with a casino, two spa's, golf courses, great entertainment, a ranch and so much more to see! Great little community to check out and relax. My whole family had a great time and will return soon....

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/08
The smell of the sulphur springs is overwhelming...really stinks sometimes. At $250 per room per night, too much for too little. We will never go there again!

Beautiful Rooms/Gardens
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
One of the best places to stay ever, even though I get the room comped. You can feel the spirits of those who have been there before us, the most beautiful rooms with THE BEST BEDS. I love the 'old feel' of everything. Service at Diamond Jims is EXTREMELY SLOW, but the food is good. Did have an issue in the VIP lounge with flies - YUK! A great experience if you can afford it, it is pricey if not comped by casino play.

To far for nothing
By Brad M, 05/26/08
We drove 255 rdt there this memorial day weekend to see Rodney carrington. The show was ok he wasn't very energetic as I have seen him before. The ballroom was nice but way over packed rows a-ff 60 chairs per row. The casino was a disapointment as I have been to other Indiana casinos not very good machines never found a $.25 machines all were $0.2 The so called boat loked big when we pulled in the valet but very big once inside. Buffet was ok if all you want to eat is fried shrimp very small though. My wife said they put too much money in renovations not much in casino floor.

Privacy Please

This resort needs to remind its help to knock before entering a room. I sure would have greatly appeciated it. They have no business entering your room midday.

Bed Good. Food Bad!
By Joe, 07/05/07
My wife and I have now stayed at this hotel a total of 3 nights on 3 separate occasions. Our rooms all 3 nights were great. All seemed brand new while keeping an historic feel. On the other hand, the food we have had in the hotel and casino has been terrible. The dinner buffet was second-rate. At $20 a person, I didn't expect gourmet, but definitely good food. It wasn't. It was barely average. Later in the night I got hungry while gambling and decided to sample a piece of pizza from “Nosh”. It was the worst pizza I have ever had. I have yet to try the 1875 Steakhouse, but until I am sure that they have it under control, I won’t risk the big dollars I hear they charge.

"NIGHTMARE!"
By Brian, 06/27/07
We arrived and were told that although we had reserved a room with 2 beds for three people that they did not have such accomodations available. They next told us they didn't even have our reservation listed "in their computer." Later after threatening to call Expedia to confirm our reservation, they stated they had FOUND our reservation but that they were at 101% occupancy and would "UPGRADE" us to a SUITE with a ROLL-AWAY bed. We explained that we had driven all day and DID NOT CARE ANYTHING ABOUT A SUITE at no reduced rate, and really needed 2 regular beds. After 1 1/2 hours of telephone calls & haggling with the manager we were finally given the suite with the roll-away bed at a reduced rate. On attempting to get up to our room the valet attempted to help us to our room but the elevator used did not go to our floor or wing??? Through the courtesy of a housekeeper who was taking a "roll-away" bed to ANOTHER ROOM we were finally directed to another elevator which WOULD to to our "SUITE." On arrival to our room, we found the bathroom countertops not cleaned, and NO ROLL-AWAY BED, and linens for only 2 people. We had to call back down to the front desk and request the "ROLL-AWAY BED" as promised. They stated they would bring the bed ASAP but that it would "be a while" as they were understaffed and that they also had no extra pillow as they were all being used. I ended up sleeping on the couch as I had fallen asleep there before the 1 hour had expired before the bed arrived. I used bath towels for a blanket. Not what I would have expected from a 5-star Hotel. I had a miserable night's sleep. If you like glitz & glitter and plan on staying up all night gambling and don't care whether or not what kind of room or bed you sleep in you might have a good experience. Otherwise... BEWARE. On the POSITIVE SIDE... The valet and housekeeping staff were very helpful and courteous but were UNDERSTAFFED and OVERWORKED. It seems the ownership/management are more interested in PROFITS than SERVICE.

We go every weekend!!! Hope to see you there too!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
The French Lick Casino is the greatest!!!!! Me and my husband try to go there every weekend. I love playing slots, and hit the jackpot just on our second visit there. The service is also great, along with great dining, friendly staff, and even though some people may say it is smaller than other casinos, it has everything possible, and then some.... I can hardly wait till this weekend, cause we will be there again.... Hope to see you out there too!!!!
