DIRTY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/11
This place was dirty, dark and dingy. Musty smelling. Carpets were disgusting. Dont walk around on it without shoes. My mom and I bought the Fall package, 2 nights with $40 restaurant gift certificate. We wanted to walk out right when we got there. Awful rooms. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Our balcony consisted of a view of the dumpsters and the unattached laundry facility. It was lovely seeing the workers sit outside smoking and talking and then carrying towels and blankets around outside. The restaurant was nothing fantasic. We will never be going back. We found out the Abe Martin Lodge was smack dab right in the middle of the State park. We went in there and ate. Beautiful and much cheaper than Brown County Inn.We kept kicking ourselves and statign we should've booked at the Abe Martin Lodge.

We go every Fall
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/10
They have a great package that includes dinner for two and breakfast for two the next morning. The bottom floor rooms have sliding patio doors and a small patio to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. We've come every Fall for years and years and love it. It's not NEW, it's an older hotel, the staff is friendly and the accomodations for what we're looking for are perfect. It's walking distance from all of Nashville, and a tram comes right to the door if you don't want to walk. We'll be back, as always... :)

enjoyable stay...............
By Kathy, 9/22/09
my husband and i stayed here in July 2009 and really enjoyed it. Loved the country setting and the pool was wonderful, the miniture golf and shuffleboard game area was great. loved having a patio door. Only complaint was we had group of noisy teenagers staying upstairs above us but other than that. we will stay there again.

Won't Stay Again
By Beth, 9/24/08
We stayed one night at Brown County Inn because we couldn't get the Comfort Inn for three nights, only two. The first night was at the Brown County Inn. The price was more and the place was in need of complete rennovation. The staff was okay, no continental breakfast; they have a restaurant attached which was overpriced for breakfast. Dinner was delicious and price was okay. But dining room was very rundown and in need of updating; not the cleanest place either. Will not stay here again.

Great Place if traveling with kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/08
The Brown hotel was a really nice place to stay. My sister, her husband, her four year old dauhgter, and I spent a long weekend in June. We had two rooms with an adjoining door so that my niece could go back and forth from room to room. It was nice to have something for my niece to do after Nashville rolled up the sidewalks (a saying that we say in Ky.) She had a nice playground(a little shade would be nice), putt putt golf, ping pong, and the indoor swimming pool with the garage doors that could be opened and were most of the time. They had a shuffle board and tennis courts, too. The rooms were very nice, maybe new pictures on the walls but as my niece put it "they are antiques." I even found a creek flowing at the end of the property and it was so peaceful and restful to just watch the water flow over the rocks. The hotel was located in a very convenient spot to the shopping areas and to the Brown County park (it is a must see, looks just like a small scale version of the Smoky Mountains.) We had a very good time. The restaurant needs a little updating or at least a little bit better lighting. All in all I think we had a nice time and I hope to go back again soon.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/08
My family and I have been going to Brown County since before I married. After marriage, I took my family, and grandchildren there. We always stayed at the Brown Co Inn. Never again! It is old, smelly, and in need of complete renovation. The rooms reeked of the smell of mold and smoke. Our breakfast was not tasty, the service was poor, and the tablecloth was sticky. We left after breakfast to return home, even tho we were on a package deal. When we checked out (About an hour too late) my husband told the desk clerk that we were leaving because of my breathing problems. We were asked to turn in our voucher that we did not use. WE WERE CHARGEDFOR THE NIGHT WE DID NOT STAY.

Customer Service!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/07
I had difficulty with the managerial staff when dealing with a problem. My bank account was charged too much when I booked the room and when I called and asked about it, they said it was my bank's fault. I finally cancelled the reservation and asked for a refund after arguing with them for a week and incruing fees from my bank for the hotel's mistake. Not once did I reseve an appology for my trouble or an offer of how they could make it better even after I stated that I had stayed with them for several years and would not return. This had been the host of a family girls weekend for years. Looks like we will find a new hotel for our annual getaway!!

never again
By Ron, 4/14/07
We were quoted a price over the phone and when we arrived the price was $20.00 more. Told the desk clerk we had stayed at the lower rate quoted before. He said no we had not. Refuse to stay at a place that calls me a liar. The manager was supposed to call me back to discuss the problem. 3 days later still waiting.

We go back every year!
By Tin Man, 1/12/07
We decided to have our family reunion at the Brown County Inn for the first time in 2001. The staff will go out of their way to accomodate you and make you feel welcome. We have NEVER had any issues with room or facility cleanliness, the food is always good and hot, and if you need anything ASK.
