Super 8 Bloomington, Bloomington

Honestly, I do not understand any negative reviews given to this motel. I have stayed here many times, often for extended stays. The facility is great. The rooms are very clean and offer all the features you need. The morning breakfast is good. But, what sets this Special 8 from any other motel I have stayed at is the staff. The owner works the desk during the day and she is wonderful. I can honestly recommend this Motel to anyone. Ken Duffy Memphis, TN.

I will never return to this hotel again. I picked Super 8 because it was in a nice central location, near shopping centers w/ affordable rates. A good place to lay your head for the night right???? Wrong! I decided to get some breakfast, but before leaving I placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door..so the maids would not attempt to clean my room. I passed a housekeeper, who appeared to be very friendly, while going down to breakfast area.. Upon my return to my room..I was shocked to be greeted by the same friendly housekeeper leaving my room. She immediatly began to state she was cleaning my bathroom because it was dirty. I was very uneasy w/ this because I had not even taken a shower in the bathroom yet..nor did I ask for housekeeping to enter my room hints: (the do not disturb sign on my door. The housekeeper seemed very nervous and anxious to assure me she was only cleaning and nothing else. Once she left my companion contacted the front desk who was not at all helpful regarding our concerns. We had all of our personal belongings ..from our wallets, purses (w/id's and cc info) cell phones etc.... . I was so bothered..not knowing how long she was in our room or what she may have taken. I know longer wanted to stay another minute in that motel..We packed up our things and proceeded to the front desk. There waited the same unsympathetic front desk man...who spoke nothing of what just happened..So, at that point, I felt the need to remind him. The only thing he could say was he"yelled at her" and this is the 3rd time this has happened. I was absolutely outraged that this housekeeper still is employed, and even more shocked how non chalant the front deskman appeared to be. He never apologized for her actions, he didn't offer any type of compensation on our current stay...Nothing! I even asked for a number or address to corporate. He said I can send any/all correspondence to their location and they will forward accordingly.....(I think not!)...I hope anyone who reads this review or prior reviews regarding this hotel...will stay clear of the it, and hopefully learn a lesson w/out having to experience it.

I went to breakfast, placed the do-not-disturb on the door, only to return to a housekeeper snooping through my room. She tried to explained that she was cleaning yet my room door was closed and there was no housekeeper cart in front of my room to show proof. I called the front desk, the rep. stated this was the 3rd time this has happened yet he did not offer anything except that he yelled at her. She had at least 30minutes alone in my room. I would never go back and I pray that my identity is safe since all of my belongings were in the room including my credit cards. I am so sick and upset that the staff was not helpful and I cant believe she is still working there!!!! Do not stay at this hotel unless you want the staff to steal from you.

First of all, as you walk in you will be suprised by the awful rank smell. Very old, needs to be demolished. Service was okay as we had to be moved because we couldnt breath in our smoking room, moved to the second floor that smelt like a nursing home. Please pass on this one.

Entire place is old and dirty. Staff is unhelpful and rude. The cleaning crew starts cleaning rooms early in the morning and the yelling and banging noises they create in the hallways is enough to wake the dead. If you stay here, you will regret it.

I booked this hotel through trip rewards program that I'm a member of. It was $80 for a night and wasn't worth $10. The hotel is outdated, unkept, dirty, smelly and is in need of a complete teardown/remodel. Our room had a layer of dust on everything, mattress was falling apart, bathroom sink wouldn't drain, hairs from previous people still on bathroom floor/toilet. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!

This super 8 was one of the worst I have yet to stay in, very dirty, hallway smelled like cat pee, rooms had bad odor along with dirty bathrooms, i felt scared sleeping in the bed because of nasty sheets. I think the franchise should keep a better eye on the people they sell there motels to. out of a 10 rating I rate this a 1.5.

When I arrived in Bloomington, IL., I was not able to find the street address of the Super 8 Motel in which I had reserved a room. I stopped at the first Super 8 I saw to ask directions, and discovered that it was the exact motel I was searching for. The clerk was pleasant and helpful with details of my room location and local information. The room, a non-smoking on the 2nd floor, was clean and well decorated. I noticed a strong smell (perhaps of chemicals?) but it did not hinder my sleeping. The only disadvantage to my choice of the Super 8 was that it had no elevator. My luggage was a bit cumbersome to "lug" up the stairs, but I managed. If given the choice to stay at a Super 8 or at a similar motel in the future, I would choose the Super 8. The price was fair and the AC worked well. The bed was comfortable and the two clerks I spoke with showed professionalism and courtesy.
