Holiday Inn O Hare Area, Chicago

We travel alot in the United States and Europe, so we have stayed at MANY different hotels. The Ramada Plaza Hotel Chicago O'Hare Airport was a very nice surprise. The staff/service were helpful/efficient, the free aiport shuttle was clean and on time. The hotel is located within walking distance of the L train station that takes you downtown within 30 minutes or to other transfer stations. There may be PRICIER hotels in downtown Chicago, but for the value, this hotel is very hard to beat.

We made our reservations through expedia and arrived there with them telling us that we never made reservations. It turns out that some fool at the reception desk used our confirmation number on someone else giving our room to them. They would not refund our money and we got stuck with an ugly old room. It had torn wallpaper and rust that was eating the windows. The windows had holes from the rust. This was an ugly hotel, the only nice thing was the entrance. The ceilings were also very low I'm 5' 10" and it made me feel like a giant. The hotel was also very humid inside. The day we were there it was 96 degrees and they didn't even have the air on not even in our room. We had to turn on our air and had to leave for a while because it was that awful.

The receptionist named Tiffany was extremely rude and unhelpful. She was actually screaming at the guests who were asking her about the shuttle service to the airport.
