Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O'Hare, Rosemont

I am a meeting planner and help my 60 person meeting at this hotel in April 2008. Staff was great/Front Desk was GREAT! Everyone friendly. Food was great! And pricing for chicago area- FANTASTIC. I would definatly come back.

Loud construction, meeting rooms far apart from one another. I could've handled that except that the staff that I worked with was the worst by far that I've encountered in my years as an Event Manager. Starting with checking in . . . front desk person was rude, the event staff was disorganized and the IT person was unknowledgable. I will NEVER go here again and recommend you do the same!

Hotel itself is very nice; rooms have a great layout with a fair amount of space and plenty of windows, and the beds are quite comfortable as they typically are at hotels in the Sheraton chain. Renovations were going on while I was staying there (beginning of April 2006) and were quite unobtrusive. Location is great; close to highways and Allstate Arena for events (but if you plan to walk to an event at Allstate, keep in mind there isn't a sidewalk or a good path along Mannheim under I-90) and about as close as it gets to O'Hare. Even though you're so close to O'Hare, you won't have to worry about noise from passing airplanes disturbing you. The only hassle with this Sheraton is the parking set-up. First of all, it costs $12 a day. Second of all, there's a chance you might not have a space if the hotel is full or close to it. Last, and certainly not least, is the system to get in and out of the lot; you're given a paper ticket when you first pull in that has to be encoded, then you swipe the ticket through a device to get in and out... but swiping it didn't work half the time. Not a great system, but it's just an inconvenience really.

Large comfortable rooms, reasonably clean. Restaurant was only average, with high prices. Location and shuttle were very good. Only one of two treadmills was operating, causing some to wait, but I understand they were remodelling for a new fitness center. $55 cab to downtown, but by taking the shuttle to the airport, then the train to downtown, you can do it for $2.

I was extremely upset that guests have to pay for parking! How ridiculous is that, $12 per car to park overnight!!!! It is a nice hotel but I will never go back, I will probably check out the Mariott a few blocks east!

We were given a very nice suite on the 10th floor with bedroom and sitting room. The bed was superb, the room was very clean, all amenities were provided, and room service was awesome !
