just as we expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/09
Breakfasts are not served (but we can have coffee in rooms and in the hall and "papa bear" restaurant is near from the hotel), the rooms and facilities (comfortable guest rooms, along with double beds, pool, internet access) were just like told to us. Staff was very helpful and always answered all our questions! The receptionist made all the steps for us when we needed and helped us to find our way to downtown and everywhere. Beware of the traffic noise when your room is over looking the avenue. A negative point : a special unique smell in hall and passage (but not in rooms).

So bad we didn't even sleep there
I arranged for to stay at The Fox Valley Inn through hotwire, which gave it a 3 star rating. It was just awful. The place was dirty, there were creepy people hanging around the lobby and outside. We checked in, but decided to stay somewhere else the first night of our 2 night reservation. When we returned the 2nd night we found that not only had they given our room away, but when our key didn't work they just handed us a key to what was then someone else's room! Imagine our surprise when we opened the door to see someone else's luggage on the floor! Despite having given our room away, the guy at the desk (behind the glass shield) kept pointing to a sign that says "no refunds". We feel like they just stole our money. Spread the word that this place is JUST AWFUL!

sorry we went
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/08
This was an experience we will never repeat. It was not clean & had trouble getting the tv to work. We were only there 2 nights. The first night the room was totally unexeptable (room150) & we got a room change that we could do with ( room 156). After having trouble with the tv twice, we were offered another room change but decided we would leave well enough alone. we were afraid to take a chance on another room. We thought that $62.50 would get us a decent room but apparently not.

Liked it yet again...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/08
Every time I visit Aurora I stay at the inn. I just returned from staying there for two days. I hadn't been there since one year ago and I noticed they had their rooms renovated. Newer furniture, newer beds and better service than last time I was there. The receptionist was very helpful and thanked me for my continued service. :) So if you have a choice between staying at the Motel 6 next door and the inn I would choose the inn!

Stay somewhere else.

We hosted a family reunion in the area. While the motel heartily took reservations for our family, they weren't prepared to handle a large number of guests. There were never enough towels, the employee at the desk spent more time saying that their was nothing he could do. They posted a sign at the front desk stating that the motel had no more towels. Most of the rooms on the non smoking floor smelled like moth balls or worse. I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that they did not have a manager on duty, but that I could call and talk to the Night Auditor. This posed a problem for many because we needed problems handled right away. The towels that were received were horrible. They were used towels purchased from the Hilton Hotel. some towels looked like they were just recently used, some still wet while others were very dingy in color. The beds were rock hard! The only thing that appeared clean was the outdoor pool. The Aurora Inn is not a place that I would recommend for anyone with children. If you need a cheap room for the night, PLEASE look elsewhere.

False Advertisement
By Marie, 03/11/07
The man at the hotel charged me $59.00 when your ad says $42.00, and he insisted upon a shadow of a doubt that I was WRONG! That it didn't say that and that only Truckdrivers got a price of $48.00 I think it was. I could be using this hotel every weekend for my son to come into town to see me with my granddaughter because my place is too small. $42 would've have been just right But not $60 & to be called a liar in so many words. Nice Hotel - Horrible service!

never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/07
As a 70 year woman traveling alone, the glass at the desk keeping you away from the staff should have been a warning. The remote didn't work, and when I called and asked for another, they said they would send me one and it never arrived. The shampoo was partly used and I did get another, because I went and got it. When I checked out and asked that the manager contact me, guess what, that was 3 months ago and no contact yet. Terrible, frightening experience for me.

Don't go to this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/06
We checked in last weekend, we were told on the phone it had an indoor pool but there was not an indoor pool. We were in a hotel room with 3 kids and nothing to do. The room was so outdated, the hairdryer on the wall is from 1960. The deadbolt lock on our door was broken so we had to prop the ironing board beneath our lock to stay protected. The bathtub leaked everywhere and the hallways reeks of cigarette smoke. We were completely miserable, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
