Rodeway Inn Lyons, Lyons

Don't trust the website reviews for this place... I went to Chicago for the weekend with a friend, and one of the only positive things I can say about this place is that it is close to downtown, and the bed was comfortable (if you like soft beds). The website says that each room is equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We had none of these. Our room smelled of mildew, and the carpet was wet. We requested a new room, which was a smoking room and they sprayed it down for us. The staff were friendly enough, but when the owner/manager showed up he started yelling about how the rooms are never in the condition we found ours in. Very unprofessional. The towels are basically hand towels, so bring your own. Expecting internet? Forget it. The professed "high speed wifi" is a joke. We couldn't connect at all. There was no toiletries offered, so bring your own (shampoo and the works). The showers were small, and definitely not "whirlpool" tubs like we expected. The indoor pool was cloudy, and not heated. When we plugged in the hair dryer to use, I expected to lose power in the room because the lights kept dimming and flickering. The parking lot is obnoxiously small, so good luck on getting a space. I could go on with the negatives, but I'm sure you get the point. It's fine for a one night stay if you don't need anything, and the price is definitely reflected in the quality of the place. I suggest spending more to get a nicer place.

Its not what I expected from the website but was decent. Staff doest speak much english but is still nice. Breakfast was AWESOME! fresh waffles, muffibs, coffe, apple and orange juice! We stayed in room 28, it had mirrors on the ceiling... Shocked us at 1st but we made it work..;-)

I was happy with the overall apearance and enviroment. For the money cant be beat.

They seem to not know what is going on in the office. Even for the price I did not get near what I paid for. The staff was afraid of the owner. First, the immigrant maid cut herself and bleed on the towel and was afraid of getting fired. Then, the women at the desk made an anti-semitic and offensive statement and then when I complained they asked me to leave. At 8 PM, when they asked me to leave, I packed and I left after a long day and came home to Michigan.

I have seen better motels... but staff was friendly and helpful. Room was okay and clean.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Rodeway Inn. I was a little skeptical of the hotel because of the low rate, but what I received was wonderful service from the entire staff, a wonderful bed that I was able to sleep a solid six hours which is a triumph for me and had a very decent breakfast. I recommand this hotel for your family and if you need a place to lay your head from bussiness travel. A very nice hotel with a fantastic price. I will definitely stay there again.

This was a great stay for the price. I have stayed at several Rodeway Inn hotels across the country and I must say that this was the most pleasant stay with them in a long time. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful with directions and knowledge of the area. The transportation into the city was convenient and the neighborhood was very clean and quiet. I work a lot of hours and to have the piece of mind I received there with the housekeeping service being able to clean my room daily and very well, not having to worry about food in the morning with their delicious breakfast every morning was so nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know who are visiting the area. Not only is it a few miles from the airport, easy access to the train to downtown and great food a few blocks away, but the staff and service for the low price can't be beat! Come to the Rodeway Inn for your next stay. You won't regret it!

I have been a loyal customer to this place for months! And apparently when something breaks they have a need to fix it at 8:00 am!!! buzzing, sawing sounds, for 2 hours! I ended up leaving cuz i coudnt listen anymore! Horrible service! They didnt do anything about it! tHE WORST EXPERIENCE STAYING SOMEWHERE!!! If you wanna hear buzzing and crazy loud sounds, then this is the place to come.. this was horrible..i had 4 hours of sleep because of this crap...i suggest not coming here,EVER! Because i never will again! Whats worse...i should have gotten my money back...i didnt. Nor did i get anything out of this...except for no sleep.

I expected the condition of the rooms to reflect the cost. However i was pleased to see that the rooms have been redone and with quality materials. The price was right and the amenities were what one would get at double the cost. I occasionally have work in the area and I will stay again. Best bed on the block!

We were very impressed by this motel. It used to be The Chalet. The Chalet was a rats nest and full of bugs. The Roadway Inn was great. Very clean. Clean sheets, clean room everyday, very helpful, very accommodating. We had a handicapped person, and they were very helpful. We can't wait to go back again.
