Slamming Doors!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/08
Although the hotel is clean and friendly, the construction is poor quality. We had to call the front desk and ask that the adjoining room please lower the TV sound on more than one occasion during the night. The heavy slamming doors all night are more than agrevating. Guests are so rude that they slam the doors whenever they enter or exit the rooms? Are they def?? The walls are paper thin so if a good night sleep is what you want, stay at a newer hotel with more sound proof rooms. You can actually hear full conversations and even snoring through these walls! The views are nice, and the restaurant serves good food, but not enough to stay again. Sorry, save your time and money and stay at any of the other nice hotel choices in the area.

bad policy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
My son and his family went to jump in the pool only to find there was a PRIVATE PARTY going on! WHAT?? A PRIVATE PARTY at a hotel swimming pool on a week-end? What's up with that. When he complained at the desk he told me 1) no one seemed to know what to do about it 2) no one really cared. The fellow asked him if he had made his reservation on line. He said he had and the guy said 'well, it says the pool is "seasonal" ummmmmm 1) the pool was OPEN 2) was this not the SEASON???? (June 21st) The guy then said 'well, you can go ahead and go swimming, just don't eat any of their food" OH YA- THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. They were in town for a family gathering, when they returned to their room later in the afternoon 1) the key didn't work 2) the room was not cleaned. When he went to see what was up with the key the first thing they asked was "when are you checking out?" What difference did that make?! They went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast and it took 40 minutes for them to get their food. apparently they had one person doing all the cooking. On a postive note the room was large and nice enough.

Close doors and reopen later.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
Arrived at 8:30 p.m. room was not ready. Put in hotel next door, truly the most unkept, dirty, construction site, I have ever experienced. No hotel site like Priceline, Expedia, etc. should have this hotel on its list. Inside room was better, we were just passing through town and leaving at 5:00am so did not look for a different hotel, just shut the curtains and tried to forget what the outside location looked like. Wedding reception with outside door open with a band played loud music, 20 feet from our door. Put in earplugs and reminded myself not to use Priceline again. Do not stay in this hotel if you have any expectations! This Redlion needs to close down, remodel and then reopen. I have a Redlion in my hometown and it is great, stayed in one in another Idaho town, it was fine, it is JUST this location.

Avoid the 2-story motel style rooms
By Winnie, 08/02/07
I have reserved 3 rooms at this hotel and the front desk has messed up our reservation and took a long time to locate our 3rd room. Disregarding this, all 3 rooms are at the 2-story motel style building. It took us quite a while to figure out that the door handle actually need to pull upwards to open. In the common area and the corridor outside the room, they look like a demolished 2-story building. Some rooms probably not used for hotel room any more and have wood board covering the window. The room size is decent, but everything else is very disappointing. If they post the picture of the 2-story building on the website (instead of all photos from the main tower), I would definitely not stay there. Unless you can confirm a room at the tower building, avoid this hotel. Before our trip, I don't even realize that I am not staying at the tower building.

Worst Hotel Experience EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/07
Avoid the rooms around the pool area & restaurant at all costs. There is no view of the falls to compensate for the abysmal setting and noise disruptions. They were in the midst of renovations during our stay and would start jackhammering the sidewalk across from our door at 9:00 in the morning, even on Saturday morning. On Saturday, a Mariachi band started booming at 3:00 in the afternoon and continued into late in the evening. We called the front desk to ask for assistance and they said that a dance was scheduled there until 1:00 a.m. and they couldn't do anything about it. We called the Idaho Falls police and they said there was no ordinance that restricted such disturbances within businesses. It was awful. The room itself appeared decent, but the walls were paper-thin. We could hear all the doors around us open and shut and any movement from the room above was very distinct. At least we had a renovated room, but it was obvious from the lingering odor that it had previously been a room for smokers. DEFINITELY inquire about parties & noise before you make a reservation. We never encountered this scenario before and will never make the same mistake again!!

Nasty! very dirty
By Fernando, 07/29/07
Total disappointment. We stayed for one night (one night too many) and the staff was very unfriendly, the room was discusting, the door was not secure (it rattled every time someone entered one of the other rooms, which continued for the whole night. Do not take your family there, it is terrible!!!!! There are other NEWER hotels in the area much better for the same or even better price.

What a disappointment!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/07
We arrived late due to a flight delay and were given a room in their "two story" building. There was construction all around and the stairs and walkway looked a little hazardous, with boarded windows on rooms nearby. There was a cigarette butt on the floor of our no smoking room, the toilet was dirty and the water was running. An old shirt adorned the ironing board in the closet. The front desk would not give us another room and sent someone to remove the cigarette butt and old shirt and clean the toilet. We had expected "Premium Two Queen Beds No-Smoking ". What a disappointment!!!!!!!

Don't Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/07
This hotel was hard to check into; the front desk people were incompetant. The service in the lounge was the worst I have had in a long time. Waited almost a half hour for coffee. After a fun day with friends and co-workers, we were having a pizza party upstairs when the cops stormed our room without cause or warning. They even manhandled some of our guests. Later, the police and staff put all the rooms in the hotel on what I would call lockdown--6 people were arrested for hanging out outside their rooms IN THE POOL AREA! Don't ever stay here! Ever! We will NEVER go back!

Will be great when renovation is complete
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/07
Arrived a couple hours early and had to come back because the room wasn't ready. Came back at checkin time and room still wasn't ready...seems that 3/4 of their housekeepers had called in sick. Finally got our keys about 40 minutes after checkin time...but also got an upgrade from the ground level "poolside" building to the "Tower" PLUS tickets for free breakfast each day of our stay at the rather pricey onsite restaurant for the two of us AND my girlfriend's two kids who met us there (but weren't staying at the hotel). The staff was very friendly and accomodating throughout our stay. The hotel is quite time-worn but is under renovation, so prepare for some noise and workers going in and out. After parking in the handicap section on the south side of the hotel, my trip up the nearby ramp led me to locked doors in a section under construction. Back down the ramp and around to the north finally got me to the lobby. Uneven surfaces between sidewalks, parking/driveway, and ramps made for a bumpy ride. Handicap room was large and comfortable but noticed that dusting didn't appear to be on the housekeeper's list. Fast internet via WiFi and ethernet cable is provided in-room. The manmade Falls on the Snake River are directly across the street from the lobby, along with an awesome riverwalk in a well tended parklike setting.
