Noisy, dirty, tiny...

We really hated this place. The 1st room they put us in was big enough, and had a great view of millions of other windows/people's rooms...in the first 5 min. it sounded like the roof was caving in-yes, non-stop construction echoing against the walls. The 2nd room they TRIED to move us to was a smoking room. Yuck. The 3rd room was no bigger than a small walk-in closet, the bathroom was made for munchkins, and the hot and heavy Asian couple next store kept us awake every night, through paper-thin walls.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Filthy over priced DUMP, pool closes at least 2 hours before other local hotels, staff is mostly RUDE & or inept, with some wonderful exceptions that should look for work elsewhere, this place is a joke, crappy service, disgusting rooms, FYI if you stay left of the elevator facing the pool on any floor in the first tower, garbage is picked up between 5-6am & NOT even close to quiet, so if you don't want to wake at 5am to slamming metal & screeching sirens every morning DO NOT STAY HERE!! everywhere else is a BETTER Value, this place is really just a disgusting arrogant tenament!!!

At This Price, You Should Expect More from A Hotel

In a nutshell: The rooms are new, clean and beautiful, but the remainder of the hotel has little to be desired. I actually was quite dissappointed in a number of things: 1.) The noise from the Trump Hotel being built across the street. If your room is in anyway near this construction site, don't expect to sleep past 7 am each morning. 2.) Room service is sketchy. For a couple of days, our room was "forgotten" and was not cleaned. We had to call the front desk and request service. 3.) There is no in-room dining and this is very bothersome. To continually tromp around town 3 times a day in search for breakfast, lunch & dinner gets old quick. 4.) Speaking of food - The Shorebird Restaurant and Beach Bar is horrendous! The quality of food and the cleanliness of this restaurant disgusted me! To pay $16.50 for their breakfast buffet is truly a rip-off. I have never eaten such disgusting food is such a dirty atmosphere. Additionally, to have "to cook your own meat" at dinner and pay $17+ a plate, is not my idea of a vacation. This hotel truly misses the idea of SERVICE.

Great Location

My wife and I started our Hawaiian honeymoon here. We spent two nights and the location was great. The staff was friendly and service was better than I expected.

beach & excitement

In the midst of Waikiki, on the beach (excellent swimming, activities), food is very good for breakfast and dinner (buffet or menue)...and a pool on the beach, live music on most night, plus the feel of Hawaii w/beach boys, life, views to die for....and w/in walk to all on beach. In a word, fun.

NEVER AGAIN

My Wife and I were there recently for our 20 year Anniversary. We were so looking forward to a great time, as we had stayed there on our 10 year anniversary as well, and had a great time. I don't know what happened between then and now, but I have never been treated with such indifference, as I had by the staff, and the hotel as well. It seemed as though they could have cared less that we were there to celebrate this great occasion. Their version of an upgrade was to put us in a room directly over all of the construction that was going on. Then when we complained, the desk the person who helped us could have cared less. They didn't even have the courtesy to say that they were sorry or do anything to make the rest of our stay pleasent. We will Never go back to this hotel, and do not recommend that anyone else looking to be treated with some amount of care and respect stay here either. There are plenty of other hotels that will treat you better.

It was a great trip, I went with my 11 year old Son. I was not looking for "top self" digs and that's what we got, bare foot, shorts and tees. On one note, the power went out for over 5 hours during the day, the whole place. However, at checkout they had me pay $1.98 for two local phone calls. On a note for Yahoo travel: Please provide e-ticket numbers on your paperwork, it makes it easier to pre-print my boarding passes in advance. Also, the customer service people in India, well I just cann't understand them! M.L.Dowell
