Outrigger Reef on the Beach, Honolulu

I vacationed here at with three of my firends. It was the best and will be the most memorable vacation I have ever had. Everyone here was great, the rooms were extremely nice, the housekeeping staff was exceptional and the ocean front view from our third floor balcony was breathtaking. This hotel location is fantastic, lots of shopping, fine and casual dining, entertainment and without a doubt, the only place I would consider staying again. I cannot wait to plan my next trip here.

DO NOT.. I repeat.. DO NOT attempt to have your wedding or reception at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach and expect any kind of favorable treatment. We recently had our reception at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach and also had 30+ reserved guest rooms. With both the reservations for 30+ people plus the money we had spent on the reception, the Outrigger Reef on the Beach failed to accommodate us. We had reserved a King size bed with an ocean view and upon our arrival we were checked into the ONLY AVAILABLE ROOM AT THE TIME which turned out to be a partial ocean view with two doubles...Laughable right??!!! Management turned out to be a joke and didn't make anything happen until the next day when they finally placed us in our dream room where we were spending $20K plus on the reception and guest rooms - they found us a King size bed WITHOUT an ocean view located on their north tower. We had great views of the street and valet parking!!!!! We realized quickly that we would NOT be valued as a paying customer during our stay and instead of debating with management, we instead just concentrated on our busy wedding weekend. Never again will we be investing any more of our time or money at this establishment and we REGRET giving the Outrigger Reef on the Beach all the business for the weekend of 9/10/11. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE PERIOD!!!!!

As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a smile, our bags were taking to our room and everyone was extreamly helpful. We stayed in a partial ocean view room and our room was spacious and comfortable. The room was decorated with a modern hawaiian twist and had the BEST smelling lotion and pineapple tea. The resturants down stairs were delicious we at at each one for breakfast and the shorebird for dinner (at the shorebird, you cook your own meal on the grill, it is so fun and delicious). The hotel is right on the beach and at the end of the Boardwalk so there are tons of things to do. Everything that was expected I experienced and even more so. This is a hotel that I highly reccomend and can't wait to go back and spend more time at this hotel.

Great staff, clean rooms, good restaurants and it was worth the price...the two bummers are its a rock beach, which really stinks and they don't provide chairs on the beach- you have to buy them from a separate company at the cost of $30/daily

Liked the immaculate room with beautfiul furnishings. Very clean. Great view of the ocean from our partial ocean view room. Nice restaurants in hotel - ate breakfasts at Kani Ka Pila Grille and lunch at Shore Bird. But tons of restaurants to choice from wihtin a few blocks. Ate at PF Chang's, Senor Frogs and seaside at the HHV. Liked the bed which was very comfy and the pillows were nice also. Didn't have any complaints whatsover except that we had to end our vacation. BTW great place to get cheap souvenirs is WalMart! Believe it or not.

my wife and I have stayed there for the last 7 years.we think the place is off the hook good the shore bird bar is excellent the ocean restaurant is excellent also the staff is great all around.

Went for our honeymoon and this hotel was awesome and affordable!!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Location is awesome for beach, shopping, restaurants, etc. You would be crazy not to stay here!!

This was our first trip to Hawaii, which was a celebration of a milestone anniversary. We were island hopping, this was our first stop. Our travel agent heard about the $110 million renovation at the Outrigger on the Reef and suggested we stay here. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations in every way. The property was absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. And while it was a large hotel, it never felt overwhelmingly large to us. Service was excellent at all levels. When we checked in, we were told they had upgraded us to an ocean front room in the Ocean Tower. It turned out to be an amazing corner room, 2 decks with views of the ocean and Diamond Head. This hotel is truly "ocean front" - the guest rooms are directly above the beach. We had the daily breakfast buffet in the Shore Bird (included in our package), and also had lunch and dinner in the Shore Bird and Ocean House restaurants - all meals were excellent. The Shore Bird was also fun in the evening with music and karaoke. The beach was lovely and surprisingly uncrowded, totally unexpected. We were in awe of the view of Diamond Head and the beautiful ocean water. A short walk to a prime tourist area with the obligatory stores and crowds, if that's what you are looking for, but we never felt its presence while we were in the hotel or on the beach. Easy transfers to bus tours and other events (we did the Star of Honolulu dinner cruise one night). This hotel also offers free internet and free long distance to the mainland US. If you are looking for a beautiful resort hotel that is close to the action but still offers the option to enjoy the beauty of Waikkii beach without the crowds, this is the place to be. This would absolutely be our first choice is we are ever fortunate enough to return here in the future. We miss it already!

Disliked nothing; loved everything. Was our first visit to Hawaii & we made it the honeymoon we never had. Was upgraded immeditaley & had a great rm. on the 14th floor. It had a partial ocean view & was great. Loved the food in the Shore Bird restaurant & having breakfast on the beach. Their breakfast selection is as tasty as it is great! Staff is helpful & super friendly. Our room was large, comfortable & we loved it! I am going back to Honolulu within the month & this will be the ONLY hotel I stay inwhile in Hawaii. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is a very nice hotel, in a very nice and convenient location, and made our 1 week holiday a very enjoyable experience. Our room was on the 4th floor, overlooking the pool area and with the promised partial ocean view. All 3 restaurants are great - poolside informal, Shorebird a bit more formal and lots of fun, and the 3rd one is a formal place with same incredible views as Shorebird. No complaints - Trump tower long since finished, pool area is just fine, beach at your doorstep and $3 Mai Tai's - oh and sunsets free. What's not to like ?
