Kuleana Resort, Lahaina

the location was great and the grounds were cleaned everyday, we will go back again, I don't understand other people perception of "condo"... this is not a hotel or casino, you are mainly on your own. Less expensive but convenient for partying, cooking and preparing a pick-nik for the beach. love it.

Out dated, uncomfortable furniture, grumpy tenants, no jacuzzi, no room service, no one to help you with anything!. EVERY time I took a shower or bath, after 2 minutes, I would run out of hot water! If we had known the resort had regular tenants on a monthly basis, we would NOT have stayed there. We constantly felt like we were being watched or judged for being on THEIR territory.Dont be deceived by the pics online, their sandy beach is tiny, mostly filled with rocks, no where to sunbathe. We were "talked to" about complaints the first night we were there. My whole family came, including my 75 yr old parents, how loud can they be? If we're on vacation, we're going to have a couple drinks and have fun.. except not at the Kuleana. I would NOT recommend this resort to anyone unless they dont mind being extremely quite and bored. Next time we'll be at a larger resort with a restaurant and bar, jacuzzi, etc... really not for us...

clean unit, good appliances, comfortable bed. great ocean view and quiet area at night. Easy to find, good parking. nearby grocery stores, and lots of things to do. issues. mice running in the unit....really made our trip memorable!

I just got back from a 1 week stay at this resort. They say the resort is in Lahania but it is west of Kanappali Beach and closer to Kapalua. Our condo was unit #511 which was a 1 bedroom with a murphy bed in the living room. The units are not air-conditioned so you have to run fans. We slept in the murphy bed because there was no television in the bedroom. Additionally, there was so much road noise in the bedroom it was impossible to sleep. The last day of our stay they were trimming trees with chain saws and running chip crushers outside the bedroom window at 8 a.m. To add insult two nights during our stay security knocked on our door asking us to turn the television down because someone in the building was complaining!! We are not deaf nor are we noisy people. We also forgot to put our parking permit on the mirror one evening and had a huge sticker on our car the next morning telling us if we do it again our car will be towed. My overall impression is that the residents do as much as they can to discourage vacationing visitors from returning. On a positive note, the grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained. Pool and beach are small. There were no laundry facilities in the unit. They are coin operated in the basement.

We spend 6 days in the resort, unfortunately no one was there to greet us or direct us where to go, we had to make a phone call to get directions how to access our key; no information was in the room regarding the use of the safe, phone etc. the room was located right under the parking lot and the sprinkler system, which ensures that we never sleep through the night. The pool did not provide towels, which is done in all other resorts we visited in the past 20 some years. The grounds are kep very nice and the outdoors are imaculate. parking spots are for compact cars only so if you park an SUv and you are on the white lines you will receive a warning the next day, what a way to treat guest. I would not recommend this resort to any of my frieds unless major renovations are done and yes there is never a room service throughout the week, I just wonder what they do with the annual maitainence fees?? Thank you

very nice to get out of the rat race of the big mega resorts. stayed twice and looking forward to going back. a private beach would be the only thing they should have

The best things about this resort are the lush grounds and gorgeous ocean views. The sunsets are magical on Maui and we saw many of them from the comfort of our lanai. The condo itself wasn't large, but was clean, well-furnished and ideal for the two of us. The location was super convenient to restaurants and some local shopping, plus we were able to get into Lahaina in about 15 minutes. The front desk folks were pleasant, helpful and informative. We'll be back!!

We think of this place like our second home. Have been going back for 15 years. The grounds are so beautiful, and the ocean view. And the view of the Islands [Lania & Molokai] Plus the colorful sunsets.

My wife and i spent our Honeymoon at Kuleana in april 2006 and words can't descibe the sunset and the view. The atmophere was very nice, the unit was great with a full kitchen, as for value, not sure as the trip was a gift. Great outdoor gills overlooking ocean, very friendly staff and help setting up activities. Ladder off the rocks allow for direct snorkel access to ocean. I spotted several Moorish Idles, trumpet fish, sea turtles, convict trigger fish and one spinny puffer. Visability was good, but current can be tricky on the point, don't try it if your a first timer. (go to Maui Dive shop on Lower Honoapiilani Road for gear rental-good stuff at a fair NON GIMMIC Price. Also try the resturant "Soup and Nuts" across the parking lot from Maui dive shop. Great Food and Jazz music, good coffee etc. We will go back again and again. Maui feels like home after your on the island for a few days.

This is in a great location, nice pool, good parking, park like setting, nice beach, close to major hotels and shopping. I have been going here since I was a little kid and have been with my wife a few years ago and are going again in July
