Awful experience...
By HENRIKD, 7/26/11
Stayed there with three kids, and my mother. In the middle of night we heard something BIG scurrying around in the ceiling - by he sound of it a raccoon or similar. I rushed to the front desk and asked for help from a night manager who made it very clear he didn't appreciate being bothered. He REFUSED to help us vacate the room. I told him I was in the room with my 78 year old mother, my 12 and 6 year old daughters and I was afraid of this animal coming through the ceiling (it had a drop ceiling with the flimsy tiles). He told me he didn't doubt that there was an animal in the ceiling but there was nothing he could do about it. To make a long story short, we left the hotel and I was told the day manager would contact me. She never did so I contacted her. She was clearly not interested in the fact that the night manager wouldn't help us. She said this was the first time squirrels (right!) were in the ceiling since the hotel had put in a new roof (guess they had the issue before). I then called Marriott corporate office and have found them completely uninterested, rude and completely unprofessional. The person I spoke to said I should have accepted another room that night at the hotel and when I told her I assumed there might be something in the ceiling in other rooms as well, she asked me if I really thought the rodents would follow me. Just a LITTLE empathy would have gone a long way - this hotel defintitely don't set the tone (seems to reflect corporate respone). Guess what - my husband just switched from Mariott to Hilton despite being a former platium Mariott Reward member.

Convenient and roomy
By confederatedawn, 7/19/11
No problems with check-in. The room was extremely roomy and the bed was very comfy. Pool was good. The biggest plus was just walking back to the room after the laser show; great stay.

Great location but hot water and services lacking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/09
Both nights, the hot water was a problem. The first night they had to get a plumber from their other hotel to fix the problem. The second night, the water was luke warm. The front desk said they had a capacity problem. After about an hour, we had hot water. The location is great. There is a lack of places to eat in the hotel and there is not room service. The rooms were clean, but very small. They did make an adjustment to our bill for the problem with the water.

The price changes often evidentally
By Ms. Music, 7/29/08
I stayed there a month ago and it cost 174.00 per night. Now I see a dramatic drop in price. I would consider going back if it stays resonably priced. Great location and you get a deal when buying your park tickets from the concierge. Park is across the street. Lazer show is visible from Inn also. The pool was not clean enough to suit me. Clean the leaves every now and then.

Great family place
By Jennie, 4/13/07
This hotel had a lovely location, directly across from the historic carving on Stone Mountain. The setting was serene with the rocking chairs on our verandah. I also enjoyed the size of the room, it was much larger then a normal hotel room and had a sleeper sofa as well. There was plenty of room for my family of 4 and we could just walk across the street to all the park attractions. Very nice!

A Must See & Do
By Michael, 5/23/05
After searching for many long days and nights for a reasonable short holiday for the family, I stumbled on to a Marriott web site that had complete weekend packages. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after talking with a reservations rep, I knew this was just what I was looking for. Three nights, four days, tickets to three separate attractions, and free breakfast, what was not to love. The Marriott at Stone Mountain Park is with out a doubt, one of the top three hotels I have had to pleasure to visit! Set in a beautiful state park, with a gorgeous lake, and impeccable golf course, this place has something for everyone! All of this for just a little over $500 for a family of four! If you are unaware of Stone Mountain Park, you really must makes plans to visit! They have the single best laser light show every night, for free, that I have ever scene! One would think, being this close to Atlanta, that you would be overwhelmed by the "big city", but that simply is not so. Great hospitality, great people, and a wonderfully relaxing time, is all I can say. We shall return!
