Breakfast Coupons

Where do i start? Lets start with housekeeping. In the six weeks that I stayed there my room was never vacuumed, dusted, tub cleaned or the toilet cleaned. My sheets were not changed for over three weeks. It was not until I went to the front desk to complain the first time did my sheets get changed. Most of the time my trash was not taken out. I have food on the floor under the dresser that has been there since I checked in and everytime I sit on the bed I can see it. The carpet is full of hair and only God knows who it belongs to or how long it has been there. Since I was staying there for six weeks I had alot of stuff that would need to be packed, loaded up and tracked to my car that was parked most of the time some ways away because parking was always a problem since they rent the rooms on the main floors to parties. You find your self driving around and around praying someone would leave. You would think the hotel would advise the guest to park somewhere else since they are only there for several hours and that way actual hotel guest would not have to be put out. Since I worked seven days a week for 12-14 hours a day I did not have the time to pack up everything to move or I would have checked out of the hotel the first week, If you stay you get a coupon to get you some coffee and a dry bagel but it you want a hot breakfast that is on display across from your bagel tray you have to pay for it. For the price of the room you should be able to eat your french toast without having to pay extra. If you take a shower, one minute to would run cold and then the next second you would have to move fast because it was so hot it would burn you. I think the final straw was when I went into the bathroom and found a large roach crawling on the wall. Other people that I work with that was not staying as long checked out and moved to another hotel (even thought they were here short term) based on the lack of housekeeping. That is just some of the bad stuff. The only good part was the staff at the front desk were very nice and always greeted you with a smile and was always working. Too bad they don't work in housekeeping.

Not What I Would Expect
By ,
For the cost of this hotel it was THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. First of all the water in the shower runs scolding hot to freezing cold while you take a shower. No matter how much you adjust it, you will get hit with hot/cold water the entire shower. The staff treated us like we had the plague and would not come closer than 50 feet from us when we asked a question, because we were smoking. They charge $10.00 per day for Wi-Fi, when I could get free wifi staying at Motel 6 for 1/4 of the cost of this place. They do not have ample parking available for guests that stay in the hotel. A poker tournament was going on and we had to park 2 blocks away because between the bar/restaurant and poker patrons they had taken all the parking. When I complained to management after spending 20 minutes circling the lot looking for parking I was told they had additional parking in the back lot, which was a 2 block walk back to the hotel. Really nice considering I was checking out the next day and would have to drag all my stuff 2 blocks away. The place was really noisy, the beds were not comfortable, the pillows were awe-full. They supplied 5-6 per bed but they were all feather pillows and no matter how many I slept with I had a stiff neck. Complaining to the management did absolutely no good whatsoever. I was treated as though they could care less about my comfort. The pool consisted of salt water instead of chlorine and when I questioned this, they flat out denied that it was salt water in the pool. Like I am a total moron or something and don't know the difference between chlorine and salt water. There is no fridge or microwave available. The lobby cafe was terrible too. I will NEVER stay in this hotel chain again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. SUCH A TOTAL WASTE OF GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!!

A True Gem!
By ,
I had the chance to stay at the Doubletree in Northlake last month and it has to be one of the best Doubletrees i've stayed at. I don't stay in the Atlanta area much, but this hotel is a gem. The front desk clerk told me that they had just reopened after an extensive renovation, and it shows. Everything was brand new, and looked fantastic. The first thing you see when you walk in is an indoor waterfall, which is very cool. The lobby had fantastic hardwood floors, and the walls had really nice flat screen tvs around them. The rooms were great as well. The beds were no doubt the most comfortable i've ever slept in in a hotel. Pillow top mattress, great sheets, and a really nice headboard. The room had a really nice LCD tv in it, which was really super. Also had WiFi internet, which is always a plus. I have to give this hotel 5 stars. Really cool, modern design and doesn't sacrifice comfort.
