Howard Johnson Inn Macon, Macon

I stayed here for the first and last time. There was a roach in the room and not to mention a dead bird outside my patio door,I did away with the roach and the bird, I know that you cannot control pests and it seemed as if the bird may have flew into the patio door and died. The young lady at the desk was very pleasant but the manager, he was very rude and insensitive. There were children shooting fireworks right outside my patio door. I did realize it was the 4th of July weekend but I did not want them right outside my door.I reported this to the manager and he told me not to worry about it & that I should'nt be concerned. I did not feel safe with two small children shooting fireworks outside my door. I then asked for a refund and he plain out told me NO! I had originally paid for 2nights but after this incident I checked out the next morning bright and early. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. I was there on company business for GEICO and originally my company were looking for a hotel to recommend to speakers because we are having 14 seminars from July-Sept. The young lady at the desk was so nice & friendly that I planned to tell the administrator, but after my experience with the manager, I decided not to recommend this place to anyone. We have sent out memos to all our affiliates and warned them not to stay at the Howard Johnson when in the city of Macon,Georgia. THE MANAGEMENT STINKS!!!!!!

Nice sized rooms, very friendly staff and the breakfast was cool. Eggs, Sausages et al. Great for the price.Beautiful Pool and nice quiet wooded area. We hope to be back next time.

I enjoyed my stay here so very much. The staff was exremely friendly and the rooms were nice and cozy. They had more items on their breakfast than I expected, although the lady who works back there is a pain in the a--, my initial stay was nice. Can't wait to go back to Macon, I will always stay at this hotel.

Breakfast was nice until I discovered it was a haven for ROACHES. The young lady who checked us out was extremely nice and helpful. When I complained she was very apologetic and offered a discount. I think the hotel overall will be a very classy place if they do away with the pest problems. It does not look good to have roaches around food. The health board would be very displeased and appalled at this.

I stayed at this hotel during the weekend my team had a baseball tournament. The guy who worked at the desk overcharged my card and had no idea where the restaurants were. He had to call another employee and ask them everything.I then asked for the managers name and for corporate number. He then informed me that he was chairman or president. Anyhow it was an awful experience. The only pleasant thing is the breakfast, seeing how I could not enjoy the pool because it was CLOSED ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Likes- Breakfast each day, friendly staff, location was perfect for where I needed to go, clean and quite rooms. Dislikes- The breakfast person was very annoying about having a ticket to get inside.The traffic at a certain time was heavy on freeway. I will always stay at this hotel each time I travell through Macon. It was a great experience, and safe for someone who was traveling alone. The young lady who works at the desk in the morning was extremely helpful and friendly. the evening girl, in her condition, was most helpful with directions and suggestions on where to eat.

Locaion was perfect, had to go to a seminar and it was 5minutes away. the desk clerk was very friendly,knowledgable, and extremely helpful. Breakfast was nice although I did not like the idea of having to have a ticket to eat. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
