Midtown charmer but be forewarned
Across from the Fox Theater and a short walk to Marta make this a wonderful location. This solo female traveler was never uncomfortable walking the neighborhood. Several nearby restaurants keep one from needing to eat at the hotel which microwaves their brief menu. Baraonda was my dinner hangout-- loved the Pizza Margherita and wine selection.
The hotel and room decor is bright, cheerful, and I'm told, changes a bit with the seasons. Shining hardwood floors, bright colors, and a REALLY comfortable bed are tops on my list. Inroom coffee available but you might need to ask for for the supplies to be restocked. Starbucks coffee service in the lobby will be the "fix" for those who need it. FREE internet access, printing, and copying are a welcome benefit.
I assume room size varies but suspect it is between small, smaller, and smallest. My queen bed room was fine for one but a couple would have been climbing over each other. The biggest problem is the teeny, tiny, infiniestimal bathroom. While the shower is generous in size, the rest of the facilities are so cramped together that my chin was in mortal danger each time I sat on the commode. Average sized men will hate this bathroom even more than I, and big men--forget it! Maintenance problems like shower drainage and noisy air conditioning were addressed promptly but with mixed success. If I'd paid about $30 a night less, I might be less critical but there are better options in this price range.
