Great Location and Friendly Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/09
I came with my two daughters, ages 8 and 11. We loved the location, the balcony, the beds, and shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Dunwoody Metro stop is across the street at the mall. It is a longer walk than I expected, but a short drive across the parking lot and they offer free parking at the station. I read a few negative reviews about parties and loudness at the hotel, but we did not experience that. The hotel was quiet, comfortable, and very accomodating. The restaruant was not very child / family friendly in terms of selections and pricecs, but there are so many choices in the general area it did not really matter. They will send up a microwave and coffee maker free if you ask. The beds and shower were hevenly!

Treated like a king
By Aaron, 02/27/09
I recently stayed at the W Atlanta Perimeter with my wife. We booked our room through the AAA website and got a great deal. When we arrived, the staff was amazing!!! From the valet attendant who opened our doors and grabbed our luggage to the front desk agent who checked us in and told us all about the hotel and the area, we were very pleased. I was completely amazed that even with the bargain price we got for our stay, we were still treated like royalty by everyone we came in contact with. We booked the W because we were looking for the "stay-cation" we kept hearing about. We definitely found it. The W Atlanta Perimeter is truly an Urban Oasis!!

W for Wonderful and Wishful
By Ebony, 02/17/09
This hotel is the oldest of the W hotels in Atlanta but still very beautiful. Located within walking distance of the mall, only about 15 min. from downtown, and wonderful service! My friends and I enjoyed our hotel stay. The staff was very friendly, rooms service was quick, and they have a great escorting service 24/7 which comes in handy! During the day the hotel had a tranquil Asian theme, but at night it transformed to a hot spot w/ it's own DJ.

Poor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/08
While the service was good. The hotel is in an outdated building. The floor I was on smelled of mold and other floors smelled like cigarette smoke. Not to mention that they turn the lobby into a club at night. I felt like that was a bit inappropriate. They should have a separate area for events like this. Perhaps it was the party goers but there were people yelling in the hallway at all hours of the night/morning. I will not be staying at a W in the near future.

The W is the Bomb
By Lawrence, 02/28/08
We stayed there a few years ago and it really was one of the BEST experiences my partner and I had at a hotel. Great fun and friendly staff. The hotel is very retro yet stylish. LOVES IT!

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at, the service was excellent, the suite was perfectly clean, there were two large flat panel TVs! The decor was AMAZING! Would stay at the W every night.

Allergy Nightmare -Beware!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
If you have allergies, are older than 25, and don't know what a metrosexual is -this is not the hotel for you. Each area of this over designed Ikea furnitured hotel had a different overpowering smell! I slept with the sliding glass door open both nice in order to have fresh air. And took Benedryl every 4 hours. They even have diffusers on the elevator! Noise was another pollution. After 6 the lobby turned into a loud nightclub filled with young hip looking girls wearing almost nothing and young metrosexual males. No wonder the hotel sells "intimacy kits" for use later in the evening. Most of the attendees at our meeting -older white males -felt very uncomfortable the entire time. As did I.

hip, fun, great gym
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/07
The gym is terrific- small, boutique-y and still with great equipment. The lobby is a bit noisy but still hip... The people who work there are engaging, helpful and real. Parking is easy- what more can I ask?

Far from being the best...
By Dennis, 07/02/07
Travelled to Atlanta and booked a suite and upgraded to a "Wow" room, which promised several touches of comfort such as fresh flowers, robes, full size bathroom toiletries, etc. None of which we saw in our room. My wife and I got there just past 9PM on Firday and was quite ready to relax. We cheked in at the front desk but had difficulty hearing or talking to the registration staff because of the loud music coming from the lobby, which by the way also shared the space with the restaurant, bar, and other socializing areas. Finally get to our room. First thing we notice is the smell. The room smelled like wet carpet and someone had been smoking in it. Called the desk and got a different room. However, the wet carpet smell did not go away. But this was the least of our problems. The room, after all the hype online, failed to meet what you would expect for the price you pay. The furniture was boring, small, and looked dirty. Computer table had no drawers and two chairs were made of plastic. There were no armoire, and the closet was nothing more than a couple of shelves with a curtain to hide it from view. The bed looked comfortable until you took off the comforter to sleep in it, then it was stiff as a board. Awful...but that's not all of it. The suite boasted a full kitchen, but one look at it and you will defitely be crying fowl. It was outdated. Located in a boxed-in room about 6x4 feet and covered...YES, by another curtain to hide it from view. The appliance were old and they used the original cabinets and simply painted over them. They didn't even bother to paint the inside portions of the cabinet. Now, I am not sure why they would even offer a kitchen because when we looked in the cabinets we did not find any pots, pans, forks, spoons, or even plates. In fact, the only thing we saw were four small glasses. If you look at the website, you will note that there are no pictures of the kitchen....obviously for good reasons. Perhaps one good thing to note...the fridge was fully stocked with liquour and the TVs were flat screen. But you can find these things in any hotel nowadays. We booked to stay until Sunday but after one night we decided to check out. But when we attempted to do so the manager told us that we would not be getting our money back for the additional night we had already paid for. Apparently, when we booked online the terms and conditions state that we were not allowed to change any part of the plan, which meant you paid for it like it or not. My wife argued that the hotel also promised us fresh flowers, robes, among other things but failed to deliver on that promise. Since when did hotel ask customers to pay full price for their rooms and only provide partial service? For some reason this argument did not make sense to the manager and she still refused to refund part of our money. In any case, we left and checked into another hotel and promised to take the fight to their corporate office. Overall, the W in Atlanta (Perimeter Circle) is not what I would describe as "Wonderful or Wow"...but more like "Whack, Weak, or Worthless". This place is outdated, perhaps converted on a very small budget from an old retirement home. Spend your money somewhere else.
