Nice weekend getaway.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/11
My friends and I went for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good assortment, and we loved the ocean view each morning from the breakfast room. Our room was clean including the bathroom...although the the room was a bit outdated. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was also easy beach access. Great stay...we will definitely return.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in!!
By rachel, 7/13/11
The hotel was completely gross. The room was so outdated and old. I felt dirty the whole time I was there. I refused to come back to the room until late each night even though I was exhausted because it was that bad. I had to stay there because of a conference and there was no other hotels available. I would never stay there again or advise anyone else to stay there. For females who may be staying alone I would not stay there b/c the room opens from the outside and not very safe b/c there is no security and anyone can walk up from the beach or town and did throughout the night. I barely closed my eyes.

WE WILL BE BACK! Great hotel and staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/11
The staff at this hotel was very accommodating and cheerful and service oriented. The price was definitely competitive and the guest rooms attractive, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the quietness of the island, the village tour of the historical district and even though there was construction of a new convention center and shopping center, we realize this will even make the island better in the future. We will DEFINITELY be a return visitor to the island and Days Inn & Suites - Jekyll Island!

was very nice
By Valerie, 7/15/10
We just returned from our family trip to Jekyll. With 3 kids in tow we needed more than 2 beds. We had an oceanside suite with 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa (just as comfortable as you would expect of an old sleeper! yikes). The staff was bend over backwards friendly, one evening counter worker remembered my name. Breakfast was great. We did bring a few things back to the room, like yogurt and bananas and juice and no one said a thing. Rooms clean, view great, can't see beach well because of dunes, but so what, the ocean was beautiful. Bathroom actually good size for hotel. Staff cleaned while we were at breakfast which was convenient. Pools were great, 2 regular, 1 kiddie and 1 hot tub. Beach nice, white, clean sand. Bike rental on property but nearest shops and a couple restaurants are within walking distance. Great discount on water park from desk. Room price was rather high, but comparable to others around.

WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK
By J.R, 7/3/10
My husband and I recently spent 4 nights here and we were very pleased. We had a room on the 2nd floor and had a pretty good view of the ocean. It was a very short walk to the beach where we LOVED walking on the soft, clean sand without 2,000 other people around us. (Been to Myrtle Beach?!?!) Yes, the island is very quiet without fast food, movie theaters, shopping malls....... but that is what we were looking for, rest and relaxation. The beach is wonderful. Alot of the restaurants were very good. The historic section along the river was just beautiful. The museums and the sea turtle center were very interesting. As far as the rooms at the Days Inn, we thought that they could use some paint and new carpet. But we did not find any roaches or any other little critters running around. I think the staff did a fairly decent job.The continental breakfast was very nice. It was kept clean and had a pretty good selection to choose from. It ended at 10:00 and we would never have walked in there at 10:00 expecting to make waffles and have everything still waiting on us. If you go to a restaurant for breakfast they also have a certain time that they stop serving breakfast. I would imagine that the staff has a schedule to keep. Over all we felt that we got a pretty good deal on this hotel and are looking forward to our next trip.

WHAT A REFRESHING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!
By Kim, 6/28/10
I have stayed in this hotel three times in the last three years and each time I have a great experience. The office staff was helpful and bright each time. The newly renovated suites were large, nicely redone and had private balconies that overlooked the beach. What a sunrise to be seen from the balcony. Yes the buildings are older, however, the staff was friendly and accomodating on every request. They even called me by name each time I walked into the lobby. The breakfast was nice and the dining room overlooked the beach as well. If you know anything about Jekyll, then you know that the first floor of everywhere is not a good view because of the dunes, but this hotel has a great second story view. I will return many times to stay. What a great time.

Gross!!!!!!!
By Jess, 6/30/09
The internet picture was taken at night, that should have been the first clue. In our "oceanside room" we needed binoculars to se the ocean. Thank goodness we were on the second floor because the people on the first floor "oceanside room" only had a view of the sand dune. Forget relaxing on your oceanside deck because your scant view of the ocean is from the walkway in front of your room that everyone passes by on, people trip over you and look into your room as they pass, there is no seclusion or relaxation. There was a piece of popcorn beside our bed from the people before us and it had obviously not been vacuumed. The room was very small and the smell from the drains (or something!) in the bathroom was so disgusting that none of us wanted to go in there and we kept the door shut all the time and there was a dead roach in the drawer when I went to put my clothes in. We went to the continental breakfast (which closes at 10:00) and they mean 10:00 because my 7 year old son was standing in line waiting for the waffle machine and they came out at 10:00 and took the waffle batter away. There were several people trying to get things to eat and they literally took things away as people were reaching for them. The pools were clean and well kept and the lobby was clean and new looking. There was nothing within close walking distance(no shops ) and there was one pizza place that had obscure hours of operation and a sandwich shop that looked either closed or condemned. Most of the places on the island looked just as bad as this hotel. We left the island (about 25 minute drive to any decent restaurant) for every meal, not a very relaxing trip but I didn't dare eat in our roach infested room. The day that we checked out, I awoke to a baby roach crawling on my pillow-at least I didn't need an alarm clock! I packed and LEFT! I will NEVER EVER stay in that place again. For the money that they charge, they need to renovate the ENTIRE place. There is a nice water park on the island and a resort that looked like it was about to be built, maybe we'll stay there in the future.

Terrible!
By Appreciative, 5/11/09
From the Basil Fawlty-ish day manager Richard to the filthy lobby, this place was a complete loser. Hotels on the Georgia coast can be a little shopworn but this was putrid. It's also the last hotel before the swamp and has no restaurant or even gift shop, so it's a couple of miles into town for a decent meal or human companionship. I enjoy Jekyll's peacefulness but this was absolutely isolated - think Bates Motel if someone franchised it. We didn't even finish signing in before canceling our reservation on grounds of rudeness and filth. To their credit, they refunded our money in a resigned sort of way as if this happens often. Formica is pretty easy to clean, but there was crud in the corners of the check-in desk and the pens were actually sticky. Either they don't realize they have competition or they have given up. We went to the other end of the beach and found a nicer, cheaper place for less money. Avoid this Roach Motel at all costs!

Enjoyed the stay but.....................
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/08
I enjoyed the atmosphere, everyone was friendly, nice staff however the room was very outdated and the place was infested with "lovebugs". I would like to try a different hotel the next go round. Not too pleased. The continental breakfast was nice but didn't appreciate the signs to not take away any food. What's the point ?? I guess taking the breakfast back to your room is out of the question huh ??

Wil not stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/08
The room was nice but small for the money. We had to get an island side room for one night and inquired about an oceanside room the following night, we were told the room would be double the amount we paid for the first night. This was during the middle of the week. Seems like a bit of a rip off to us.
