BEST WESTERN Riverside Inn, Macon

Im writing this review at 2:00 am. from the hotel if that tells you anything. I checked in without problem, and was very content until 10:00 pm rolled around, my family and i sat and listened to banging on the walls around us, loud drunks in the hall, and to note, one even vomited...for about 2 hrs. finally i made a complaint to the front desk that we (and our children) could not sleep..nobody did anything for 15 min. so i walked to the front desk where a boy who looked to be no older than 20, was attending by himself,and looked scared to ask the guests to calm down. This hotel was WAY overbooked for one attendant, and absolutely no security for such a rowdy crowd! on the way back to my room mutiple people carrying beer bottles everywhere, heard i made a complaint and i heard numerous remarks and threats, and a girl even becan cussing me in the hallway and nothing was done. long story a little longer, the police had to be called and this rowdy crowd finally settled down. It will be a long night of insomnia as i Dont even feel safe in my room because of the threats made earlier. I paid $205.00 for a joined room, and i will be expecting a refund in the morning. dont stay here if you expect on having any sleep, unless your a party crowd. definately needs more"experienced staff" and some sort of security...what a shame. hopefully i will have some solace and get my mony back

Was traveling alone and felt quite safe there. Nice restuarant right next door. Very nice pool area. Convenient to the exit ramp. Easily accessible. I would definitely stay there again.

When we arrived at the hotel, the clerk was smoking a cigarette and yelled half-way through our check-in to an associate to come from another room to put it out. She yelled loudly at her relief clerk for the night across the lobby that she was waiting for him and wanted to go home early. Each morning by about seven A.M., there was non-stop noise outside our door, including vacuuming. Why were they cleaning before check-out time. In fact, on check-out day, housekeeping came by twenty minutes before we had to leave and practically rushed us out. The pool looked nice, although I didn't get to use it. The hotel claims to have internet access, but the clerk told me that was only if you have AOL. The last thing that deducts from the hotel's points is that on our second day, our room keys had mysteriously been cancelled when we happened to be in a hurry to get in and out of the room to an appointment.

Excellent location, easy access to I75 and downtown Macon. Good continental breakfast. Very large rooms with decor from the Old South.

I chosed this hotel because we had a plesant experience with Best Western while on vacation in Louisana. Thinking that all Best Westerns are standardized, i paid $58.99 via hotels.com for a night in October 2004. I was shocked when i walked into the main lobby, doesn't feel like i was at a motel. Felt more like a low class apartment complex! The lady ahead of me paid the same price for a room and her's was a walk in reservation! At that point, i can't use my AAA card since i have already paid for the room whne i book it online, and the price was not even a discount although it was suppose to be. Long story short, not worth the price and had a disappointting experience. Also, i don't feel the security of living in this motel although nothing happened. Will not recommend to anyone and will not stay there again.

We have stayed at this place at least three times, and it has been alright until the last time when my husband slipped in the bathroom and fell on his already fractured wrist due to a leaky ceiling from the bathroom in the room on the floor above. I have also slipped in a bathroom in this hotel due to a wet floor the first time we stayed there. They need better plumbing and air circulation in the bathrooms, and better/working air conditioners. Be careful and be wary if you stay here!
