This place is a DUMP!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
It was a filty dirty, bug infested, smelly place. The carpet was filthy, bathroom had mildew and things were broken. It smelled really bad and the sheets, blanket and towels were dirty. We did not stay. We got another hotel. We booked it on Priceline and they shouldn't even be selling these rooms. It was truely misrepresented.

Dirty & Broken
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
We stayed only because the beds seemed clean, but checked out the next morning with a FULL REFUND. Green slimy pool, questionable people both in the evening and in the morning out in the parking lot. The rooms reeked of cheap air freshener and all surfaces were dirty & sticky. Mostly everything fell off when we touched it - towel rack, lamp shade, curtain rod, sink faucet. Toilets flushed slowly, carpets were full of (dog?) hair. We had four rooms right next to the Daisy Low Suite -- we talked to the group staying there and they were satisfied with the Suite -- but our rooms were just awful for our ten girl scouts. I wish we would have read the reviews FIRST!

Won't return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/07
Room not well kept. Toilet broken --- kept running. Faucet in sink loose. Blankets on bed very worn. Noisy, with people knocking on outside windows as well as the door. Not in a very good area. Price for single person not $46 as shown on line--- was $56 plus tx etc. Not alot of choices for dining, except fast food.

Avoid this place
By Bridget, 11/29/06
I made reservations to this hotel via another website for 11/4/06. These reservations were prepaid. When I arrived at the hotel I informed the clerk that i had made the reservations and they were prepaid and even showed her the receipt. The room was ok, but nothing spectacular. The back security door did not lock at all, so safety was obviously not a concern of the hotel either. After checking out, I was surprised to find that they had charged me again. After several unreturned calls to the manager, and several faxes, I finally had to contact the corporate offices of Baymont. As of today 11/29/06, i still have never heard back from the general manager nor received a refund. Obviously customer service is not included at this hotel. As of now the 2 nights in a mediocre hotel has cost me almost $400, a terrible headache and no resolve as of yet.

This hotel needs a minus star rating
By Vonzi, 09/17/06
I realize this is an economy hotel but economy does not mean substandard. We stayed the night because we did not want to lose our money. Bad decision! An odor hit you when you entered the building. The first room we were in was an apparent fire hazard with lights flickering and some not working at all. There was a huge hole in the beadspread. We insisted on a room change. The 2nd room had a light that had the wiring removed! Another light had a shattered lampshade. The bathroom sink was leaning away from the wall. The towel bar in the bathroom was barely hanging on the wall. The faucet in the filthy tub was very loose and there was a huge hole in the wall surrounding it. The carpet was filthy! I wish I could post the pictures I took. Words do not adequately describe the deplorable conditions! The only good thing i can say about this hotel is that I saw no bugs! Yahoo needs to reconsider this hotel in its listings.

The Worst Motel/Hotel Ever
By Perry, 06/26/06
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. Had I not already paid online, I'd found another place. Luckily it was a short stay. I always book two rooms when traveling with the family. One for the children and one for my wife and I. So this place was BAD X 2. Both rooms had a mildew smell and filthy carpet. My king bed mattress was worn/lumpy with non-existent box springs set low to the floor. The children's room at a HVAC water leak which wet the carpet which I suppose was the cause of the mildew smell. Children had no remote for the TV. Neither room had a clock/radio. No fridge in my room and on and on and on. Just B-A-D, BAD. We identified problems to staff early in the day. No other rooms were available or corrections made during the day. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Definitely pass this one up
By Jere, 06/07/06
My wife booked us at this hotel for four nights for our trip to Savannah, because the price was really good. We didn't even stay the first night. I had read several other reviews online that the hotel was in a bad area, and others had seen lots of seedy characters in and out of the hotel. Because of the price, we were willing to give it a try. I can personally vouch for every bad review I read about this hotel. Garden City is actually the primary industrial district of Savannah. Dumptrucks, tractor trailers, and 'working class' people are all the norm in this area. I did not feel safe even pulling in the parkinglot. We walked into the lobby, and there was an extremely foul smell (marijuana perhaps?) in the air. My wife commented that there was a man walking out of the hotel lobby half drunk with an open beer in one hand and two pizza's in the other. Family oriented, I think not. The desk clerk was on the phone the entire time we were checking in talking with one of her girlfriends about how noxema really cleared up her skin. She gave us our room keys and we decided we wanted to look at the room before deciding for certain if we wanted to stay. The hotel is DEFINITELY dated, and the smell from the lobby permeated most of the rest of the hotel. Sure enough, we walked in our room, and got a double, not the king room we had reservations for. My wife called the front desk, and they said they were overbooked as it was, and she doubted seriously that a king room would be available at all for the weekend. My wife requested a manager, and was told the manager was gone for the day, yet this was on a Thursday afternoon, at about 3pm. We called the online travel site we booked through and they told us at minimum we were out one night's stay and would have to cancel reservations through the hotel. They were less than helpful to say the least. My wife made a few calls, and we found a great hotel on Tybee Island right on the beach, although it cost almost 3 times more. After the rotten service and horrible neighborhood at the Master's Inn Garden City, we were more than happy to pay extra for a much better hotel. About 20 minutes later, we returned our keys to the desk clerk, checked out, and cancelled the reservation. Because we actually had two separate reservations (one for Thursday night, and one for Fri-Sun nights) we wound up losing $54 for Thursday, and $61 for the Fri-Sun reservations. On Friday I requested to speak with a manager regarding some sort of refund because the hotel was completely misrepresented on their website, and because we were so upset we didn't even want to stay there, and the manager refused, stating I should have read the fine print when we made the reservations. To sum up, this hotel is in a very heavily industrial area, located right next to a no-name gas station, has very difficult access to the parking areas, has a trucker-parking area in back, has a green slime pool, very foul odors throughout the hotel, less than helpful staff, and all told, I felt very uneasy and feared for my and my wife's safety the entire time (daylight) that we were in the area. I would highly recommend that if you are considering this hotel because of the price, you reconsider. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that cost just a little bit more for ALOT better service and satisfaction.

You get what you pay for
By Mike, 06/03/06
There were stains on the sheets/ covers, the fridge didn't work. Stains on the carpet. Ripped off by soda machine. Positive attribute of the hotel is that it is close to Savannah and cheap, you get what you pay for.

Very Unsatisfied
By Jessie, 03/17/06
This hotel experience was very disappointing. The rooms did not have King size beds as we were promised. One of the rooms only had double beds. The rooms were very dirty and smelled awful. I will not be using Yahoo travel again. I hope that in the future when people book rooms, you are actually able to provide the rooms that were sold.

TERRIBLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/05
This place should be condemned, it is very drug infested and the outlets are not in appropriate locations. I would have cancelled, but Masters requires 48hours and I didn't want to pay for the room and another hotel. Now that I think about it, I should have refused the charges.... The place is HORRIBLE, not CLEAN, not SAFE at all. I did't have the "curly black hairs" incident, probably because the linen I had was clean. Place is located near Sewer Treatment facility. Stay near airport or go downtown or Tybee Island.
