Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas Lake Buena Vista Orlando, Orlando

We had a great stay last week at the Sheraton Vistana. The rooms were very clean, the atmosphere of the resort was energetic but not loud or noisy and the staff was very responsive to everything we asked for. Our room was clean, quiet, and very spacious. Many thanks for a great stay at the Vistana!

We loved the resort and have already booked to go back again this year. The rooms were really tastefully decorated and really spacious! The kitchen was super clean and had everything we needed! The pool was amazing and when we were at the hotel we were at the pool ;-) Location was central to all attractions. If you have a car you will be driving somewhere anyway!

Although the room was nice, the facility itself was not very close to the attractions. The places to eat inside the area were nothing short of providing instant coronary disease. The pool was way to warm. When we checked in, we waited nearly 30 minutes before someone came back from their break to provide us a key for our room. The staff that cleaned the room was okay, but we had to supply our own soap and shampoo after the first day. No big deal since what they had was not really up to the standard we would have expected. They never replenished what was used and they never cleaned the bathrooms. The big deal was when we left, I had forgotten my laptop on the table next to the TV. I took a picture of our son before we left and when we reviewed the pictures, there it was on the table behind him. We last entered the room at 10:14 am. The next person in the room was a maintenance guy at 10:41 am. When we checked into the next hotel, we noticed that our laptop was missing and I left a message with their afterhours lost and found. Several phone calls later and 2 days, they said that there was nothing in the room. Of course nothing is in the room, because the guy that was in there at 10:41 took it! How do I know that he was in there, because their security manager gave me the run down on the activity of that room key after we checked out and ONLY he was in there that day. The next day, the security supervisor went into the room at 8:31am to look for the laptop and it was not there then. So either the security supervisor took it or the engineer at 10:41 took it. The corporate office basically said to bad so sad bye, bye. The take no responsibility for lost merchandise that is not placed in a safe. Really? How to place a 15" laptop in an 8" safe? I will not only never go to this Sheraton again, but I will never go to any Sheraton again because of their corporate response! Buyer beware! Orlando has 2 major sources of income, the tourists that spend their hard earned money at the amusement parks and the tourists that are held up in the parking lots or have the belongings stolen while their families are at the amusement parks! Yes, shame on me for forgetting this laptop. But for goodness sake, is their no inegrity left in this world!

This was our 3rd time at Sheraton Vistana and the first time we have really been regretful of traveling there. We should have known when the phone call we left for the concierge requesting help with golf reservations was never returned. If you are looking to buy Disney tickets, the concierge will be all over you. If you're not buying anything, apparently you can forget about getting help with golf, dinner reservations, etc. The resort (we stayed in the Fountains section) just looked dirtier than we've ever seen it. Our unit's kitchen cabinets were scratched, the bedding looked dingy and old, and there was garbage in the Cascades pool that I had the misfortune of stepping on. Usually the Sheraton is great- close to Disney, has large units with full kitchens that make it easy to save money by eating breakfast in the room and keeping snacks and water on hand, many fun activities, multiple pools, great general store. This time those amenities could not make up things like the terrible, terrible food. The main restaurant, Zimmies, is one of the worst I've been to in Orlando, and the fast food is inedible. Beware the high pressure time share sales pitch as well- just go ahead and Google "resales" of the resort before even thinking about sitting down for a heavy hitting sales pitch.

The resort was very clean. The cleanliness of the villa itself was exceptionally clean and updated. The view of the pool from our deck was great. Would drink coffee out on the deck every morning which we really enjoyed. If there was a need for maintenance, was there right away. Great places to eat within the resort as well as outside the resort. The restaurants that we enjoyed within was Zimmies casual dining,great atomosphere. Restaurants outside of resort was Sweet Tomatoes (which was a choice of a large variety of salads) and Chevy's (mexican restaurant.) Were pleased not to be bothered with time share buys. We would recommend this resort to family and friends. Also, nice and close to disney. Mary Anne Iowa

although free throughout the resort, the wifi is so slow that it takes 30 seconds to load a webpage.

We got a renovated 2 bedroom unit and were more than pleased! Plenty of room and very clean. Service was very good. While check-in was crowded with folks the whole process took 10-15 minutes from the time we walked in unitl we got our keys, pretty good in my opinion. We had just pulled up to our unit (in Springs) when a van pulled up with the crib we had requested. Our unit didn't have a hair dryer, so we called and had one in 5 minutes. Service was outsatding. Pools were nice and varried. Some were basic, some had waterfalls and splashpads. While this resort does seem huge at first, you can pretty much get from one end to another with a 15 minute stroll. Took me 12 minutes to walk from Springs to Fountains. And if you don't want to walk, there is plenty of parking so you can drive from one end to the other or anywhere in between in a minute of so. I highly suggest walking around your first night there to get the lay of the land. Its not as confusing as you'd initially thinkg

We booked our unit through RCI and were initially given a tiny studio apartment. It was basically just a room with a kitchenette. There was no view, just two tiny windows and it was claustrophobic to say the least. For a fee we upgraded to a larger unit which was much better, but the first night I awakened to find bedbugs all around me and my blood all over the sheets. It was disgusting. Sheraton did give us another unit, but not even an apology. I was afraid to sleep in our bed or use the blankets. My souvenir of the trip is about 100 bites all over my body. They itch like crazy and some will probably leave scars.

All I could tell you that they promised us lots of good things, new renovated rooms. we got nothing like that. This resort don't even deserve 3 stars.If you go make sure to get the new renovated villas.Good luck.
