Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas Lake Buena Vista Orlando, Orlando

My family and I have just returned from a 21-day stay at this resort and overall were greatly disappointed. Although the accommodation was spacious and had the advantage of washing machine, dishwasher etc. what spoilt it for us was the major reconstruction work going on around us. We had to suffer continuous heavy duty drilling, which commenced at 8 am, which gradually crept closer and closer to our block until eventually over the last few days work commenced in the apartments around and above us. Two days before we came home a workman tried to enter our room at 6.30 am and when he found he couldn't get in (luckily we had put the doorlock clasp on) when instead to the partment above us and commenced HAMMERING at 6.40 am. Complaints to Reception were useless, there only response being "yes ma'am" several times. We only got any proper response from managementafter we complained to our Virgin repand she intervened on our behalf. Their compensation for aparty od 6 was a free breakfast on our last morning which amounted to $70. I expected more from the name Sheraton. Being a senior citizan recovering from knee surgery there were days I gave the parks a miss but unfortunately I was unable to sit on my balcony or around the pool because of the intolerable noise. This work is scheduled for sometime so checkout where you are being allocated. Our accommodation was in the Lakes/Fountains area.

We liked this resort. My kids(8 & 10) loved the grounds with the water holding ponds that had fish, turtles, ducks, geese, frogs, etc. They also really liked the pools. I liked having more room. We have now decided we will not stay in a hotel room anymore. The condo was clean and nice enough. Not 5 star or anything but good for us. It looked like it had been decorated in the 80's. Lots of wall paper and peach and teal decor. The staff was pleasant. The part I didn't like was check-in was so crowded. It's a huge place and everyone checks in at the same place at the same time. Huge lines, long time processing.

Although the facilities here are pretty good (nice rooms, pools, etc.), our room was very humid and mildewy, and could not be controlled with the AC. The climate control in the room was wanting, and we went from feeling hot and humid to cold and humid. Also, the carpet was wet when we checked in (pretty nasty when you have small toddlers that like to crawl on the floor), and they did nothing about it. Most of all, BEWARE the timeshare predators!! The sales department offers you all of these gifts for attending a sales presentation, but if you can't attend the presentation for some unforeseen reason, you will have to PAY $$$ FOR THE GIFTS!! We didn't know this, and couldn't attend, and they tried to charge us $60, but low and behold, we did NOT sign their agreement that committed us to the presentation or the fee, so we were off the hook. DON'T SIGN ANYTHING FROM THE SALES REPS. IT IS A TRAP TO MAKE YOU GO TO THEIR LAME SALES PRESENTATION OR PAY!!!

If you don't mind two flights of steps and limited hotel perqs (e.g., soap but no shampoo), the two bedroom suite with full kitchen is a great alternative to a hotel. Terrific location for Disney, just off I-4. Maybe not quite as luxurious as Marriott, but close, and a good value.

I bought this timeshare online without seeing it in person and was blown away by how nice this place was. I bought in the Fountains II section and I've got no idea why people rave and rave about Cascades? It may be newer, but it's location is not better and my unit was. It was perfect, all new, fully stocked, huge and the screened porch was great. This resorts location is beyond great, two minute to Disney, two minutes to the place with all the night clubs. They offer discount tickets, the reception area is gorgeous, the pools were too fun, a different one for each day. We could not say one bad thing about this resort.

My recent trip in March '07 was disappointing. The bed linens were soiled and had to be changed so this alerted me right away to the cleanliness of the resort. The ensuite bathroom was disgustingly dirty with mold and peeling paint in the shower and the toilet was growing mold around the rim. Something had chewed away at the bottom of the front door which allowed rodents into our room. Security tried to catch the geccos but had no luck. When I asked to move, I was told there was no availability so I had to stick it out or pay for another hotel. The room needed serious updating, especially the kitchen and there was no in-room safe as stated in the brochures. I guess the other reviewer got lucky with the safe. Enough about the room, the staff were not well versed on how to get to local attractions or where the nearest bank was. This should be common knowledge to the staff as they are in a tourist trap area and should help the tourists spend their money. I made the most of my vacation and the tour company I booked with is now handling my case. Signed - Never Again !

Everything was perfect! Best resort We have ever stayed at. Loved the variety of pools and activities. Cant wait to go back! This is THE PLACE to return back to!

The rooms are not like in the picture on the site. Our room was old with no hot water in the showers.We had plumbing problems with the sink in the bathrooms. They looked like the were built in the 70s . The manager was not willing to help us when we told him how unhappy we were. we will not be going back to this hotel

We booked this hotel with guaranteed late arrival and when we went to check in we were told that they did not have our room. It was late and we were tired from driving all day! They did send us to another hotel (it was hard to find) but the boys really wanted to stay at that one. It started off our vacation on a bad note. Just understand that if you guarantee your reservation it does not mean it will be available when you arrive.

This place was awesome! No other word could describe this place. Best rooms you could ask for with the clean freak feeling but in a good way. Great location and awesome activities for the whole family. I suggest this to anyone who wants to have a great experience at a resort.
